Popped and poured. Deep yellow color. Initial nose of rancid oak, as if the wine was beginning to turn. Initial notes of butter, peach, mango and vanilla. After about an hour this really opened up, the rancid smell disappeared, and a heavy, sweet oak evolved. The wine became creamy, and complex, w/layers of flavor. A nice way to finish the bottle. Found at a Grocery Outlet for $9.99, so a pretty good value. Will try decanting, just to see what happens, on next bottle. Drink up, this is past it's prime, but still an interesting 9 year old chard.

Perhaps this bottle was defective, but I really did not enjoy it. It was a bit like drinking acid with a slight finish of nasty lemon oil. If I looked very deeply I found a hint of petrol, but it was more like gasoline than a rich old white Burgundy. It was borderline undrinkable. Definitely either a bad bottle or way past its prime.

I think it is past its prime. Lighter gold in color, thin texture. Lots of oak and a bit of honey, perhaps some almonds on the bouquet. All acid on the palate at first, then a bit of citrus and not much else. Finish is decent and on the mineral side. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.
