Excellent Mosel riesling, although I was convinced onse again that the term "trocken", meaning dry, has a different meaning to Germans than to the rest of the wine world, since there were obvious residual sugars, to the extent that the wine was leaning towards the off-dry side. Dark yellow with golden hues. Initially restrained on the nose, that opened up after prolonged aeration to reveal lovely candied quince, honey, ripe citrus fruit, tropical scents and stony minerality. Medium to full bodied on the palate, surprisingly dense for a riesling with noticeable sweetness, excellent concentration of ripe fruit and balancing acidity. Very long aftertaste. Hedonistic.
