Decanted, began drinking 30 mins later. Restrained and a thinner on the palate at the start. Wasn't that interesting until the food arrived, at which point it took a big leap up. Great acidity -- went well with both pasta and calamari. Not a ton of fruit -- a vague red berry impression. Hours in it expands to medium palate weight. I like this, and was glad to reacquaint myself with piedirosso, but I also don't need this bottle on a monthly basis.

100% Piedrosso. A little barnyard and raspberry on the nose and some definite earth. The dried raspberry persists on the palate with plenty of acidity. A bit austere and chalky, but this would go rather well with some roast chicken or even a bit of carbonara. Very Good. thedrunkencyclist.com

Savory nose with charcoal and hints of red fruit. Smokey and some reticent red fruit. This is perfect example of what people call "mineral" meaning lack of fruit, but not meaning their is positive minerality (just absence of fruit). Palate lacks clarity and a bit muddled even with a few hours in the decanter. Medium acid, medium body, modest finish.

Earthy red fruit on the nose. Reticent and rather simple flavors--not fruity at all, perhaps 'herbal' better describes it. OK.
