Excellent PN. Opened to balanced fruit/tannin in 20 minutes. Delicious. I left a half glass on the counter by accident. It was even better 24 hours later, rounder, more complex. I drank that first the second day! It should be good for a while longer, but it will not last in my cellar.

Opened, poured into a decanter, leaving a small amount of sediment in the bottle. Ruby garnet color. Nose offers brown spice and forest floor. Some nice dark cherries but felt a little flat. Good fruit and some earth and spice notes but perhaps packing in acidity. Seemed a bit heavy for a Pinot.

Holding up well, but just not that noteworthy for the price. Or maybe my tastes have changed since 2012? Dark fruit, smooth, long finish, but not the 'pop' I've come to enjoy with well made pinot noir.

Better after being out overnight, but with a stopper in it. Still don't like it at the price. Today the oka has integrated somewhat into the wine, BUT it is flat. Acid is not apparent. Deep flavors but no structure. Still unhappy with the wine at the price!

Very Disappointing! Heavily dominated by darkly toasted oak aromas and texture. Very mouth coating. Totally masked the fruit. I have another bottle. Maybe it will get better, but that is doubtful.

Blind 2012 North American Pinot (Ray and Teresa's): Drank a SMALL pour at a tasting. Really enjoyable and noteworthy. I very well may have scored higher if I'd had a full glass or more. Oregon with structure. Nice pep. It's a shame that this is $70+.

Be sure to differentiate with the Estate label. The Homer is harder to find and pricier. However, I may be biased, this is consistently one of the best Pinot's I've ever had. Balanced and smooth. The fruit tones bounce from strawberry to dark cherry without being too sweet or overbearing. Oddly enough, pairs incredibly well with seafood. Try with seared scallops or even fried calamari - you'll be amazed.

Nice round plum-cherry nose. Rich red fruit flavor with great balance between the acidity and the presence of some very soft tannins. Great finish with a little spice to it. Very long. Great aging potential.

more of a rubbery, mineral nuance to the nose. more purple to the color relative to the 2012 Estate. Just a touch spearmint to the nose. Still elegant with a touch of spice, but more concentrate and depth than the 2012 Estate.

Willamette Valley for Memorial day weekend and a peak at 2012; 5/25/2013-5/26/2013: Barrel sample. Very softly fruited aromas and massive size. The palate feels densely extracted. Huge texture and lots of alcohol. The booze stings. Again, despite the large alcohol, there's a strange leanness and doesn't really feel in balance. There's tons of alcohol on the finish, with decent fruit but again huge extraction. No alcohol stated, but this is surely over 15. These wines seem like perhaps they had high amounts of acidification happening to attempt to pull things in balance. Considering the monster that this wine is, I actually don't mind it very much and could even see myself drinking a glass. (87-90 points)

Welcome back Ray (Scott and Amy's House): From a magnum, this was drinking very well. Nice fruit, earth, a touch modern.

Huge wine as always. Layers upon layers of fruit, vanilla, and spices. Finish goes on and on. Still youthful, will go another 5-10 years at least

PNP; needed more time in the glass. Opened toward end of bottle. Oh well, on to the next bottle!
