Clear bright citrus flavors. Vibrant acidity. It’s been several years since I had the previous bottle but it didn’t have some of the complexity that I remembered. Could the age be catching up with the wine? Or is it a one off? In any case it was very pleasant and did work with asparagus risotto.

In keeping with the Peter Michael Week Pale yellow almost white, very clear Soft white flowers on the nose Mostly mango fruit on palate. Very well balanced and has aged well. Wish I had more 2012s. I am a firm believer that well made SBs from US can age well.

Served alongside a 2016 Apre. It was very interesting to compare and contrast. Whereas the 2016 appeared to have more of a brighter lemon zest and linestone sort of grip, this one definitely seemed to have less of that bright acidity and more of the rounded edges and some of the kiwi and mango notes. This one seems to finish with a hint of nutty character. Good acidity that wasn't as bracing, but still made you want to keep pouring! This one would go well with a ponchartrain style fish, as long as the heat was held in check. Really nice wine that I am glad I had a chance to try!

Tasted blind, you would have thought this was a chardonnay. This one has a rather thick mouthfeel. Poured a medium straw color into the glass. The entry is sharply acidic, with good citrus notes but this wine was mostly rather dominated by Asian pear, mango, and a hint of peach. This is a rather weighty SB. The finish wasn't as crisp or acidic as the front. Lots of chard type characteristics on the finish. Nice little wine, and glad I was able to experience this one with maybe a bit "additional" age on it.

Madison Offline 2017; 8/24/2017-8/26/2017: Grassy, citrus, melon nose. A bit more simple on the palate, with weak acidity, ample heat but less dominated by its 15.6% alcohol than I was expecting. Not showing me enough to justify its price. Not scored

The nose showed intense fruit and floral tones, displaying ripe pear, apple, hints of spice, crushed stone and honey suckle. On the palate, it displayed perfect balance with soft textures giving way to tart lemon, zesty minerality, and exotic inner floral tones. Sweet apple, citrus and spice waited for me on the finish, which was remarkably long and fresh. What a beautiful performance from a wine that I would love to sit with for hours.

This is consistently an excellent wine, and it remains so. Someday I will have to lose track of a bottle to see what an old one is like, but it's a crowd pleaser and I serve it with friends and guests and it flies out of the cellar

Citrus and melon notes with a floral overtone. Lovely citrus fruit on the palate; subtle grassy note but definitely not overdone. Good acidity; this has come into form and is drinking well right now.

Citrus with a subtle grassy note underneath and a good bit of oak too. Creamy rather than bright, though there is some nice acidity here too giving lift to the fruit. Medium finish. Starting to drink nicely, but I'll give it another year for the oak to integrate a bit more.

Reliable year after year after year. If PM whites were the only whites in your or my cellar, presuming you are as we are more likely to pull a red wine, you could do much worse. Not cheap, but fairly priced, the Apres Midi always pleases everyone. Always. Fresh, complex, nice floral nose, nice blend of flavors, brought it to dinner at Piccolo in Huntington - always excellent too- as a surprise for a friend who likes Sauvignon blanc when otherwise I'd have brought an Italian red. A nice change, so thanks, Larry and Susan.

Nose of lemon and pineapple, adds wet stone, fennel and orange peel when tasted. Firm and structured - this is a nice blend of new world and old world style.

Extremely lush for a sauvignon blanc. Big oak on the palatte and a long finish. Very new world. Tasted next to an old world Vatan Sancerre Sauv Blanc, and it was a whole different experience. But I loved it! Drinking great right now. Probably will be better in a couple years.

pale straw in color...fresh nose of lemon, dried apricot and melon with subtle undertones of dusty oak and floral spice...vibrant yet refined on entry...very well-balanced acidity and not showing it's 15.6% alcohol level...resist temptation to serve too cold, as this approaches room temperature the layers are more discernible and the mouth-feel is surprisingly polished...this will be a regular go to this summer

A Visit to Peter Michael Winery: 95% Sauv Blanc with 5% Semillon at 15.6% abv, though you'd never know it was that high. Aromas of wildflowers, lemons and spice with subtle grassy undertones. Floral, citrus and honeysuckle notes become dominant. The palate is bright and focused with good acidity and flavors of lemongrass, citrus, tropical fruit and spice. Just lovely, and I think the best example of this wine I've yet tasted.

Much clearer in color than the chard tasted alongside. Tropical notes of lemon curd/oil with some peach. Nice acidity. Reminiscent of a nice Bordeaux Blanc.

Rich aromas and taste, with a little heat poking through that detracts. Medium-bodied, with ripe flavors of peach, stones, guava. Give this some more time in the cellar, or more than the 15 minutes we gave it in the decanter. A little too open knit for my tastes.
