Finally this wine showed what it was capable of! Double decanted and served about 90 minutes later. Much deeper colour than the viognier that preceded it. Lovely nose of honeysuckle and peaches. Perfectly balanced wine giving everything it had. A real pleasure.
Opened and decanted then left for 2 hours. Drank the first half over 4 hours. Exasperating wine. Intoxicating, complex nose of sweet honey, pears and lychees. However, this stuff just doesn't work for me at all in the mouth. Tastes like soapy dishwater. Will try treating this like some of the condrieus: i.e. open and decant and let it breathe for 3-4 days.
