Wow. Not too impressed immediately after opening , however on day 2 spectacular. Such balance. Dark cherry , earth , floral notes. Silky smooth. Soft tannins. Good lift on the finish. Lively wine.

Medium ruby with a hint of brown on the edge. Very expansive nose from the get go of cherry, earth, floral notes (? stems) touch of sous bois . Wonderful mouthfeel...fairly good depth. Red fruits. Soft tannins. Enjoyable now

Age has served this well and IMHO will benefit for 2-5 more years of cellar time. Bigger, darker fruits style OR Pinot and well crafted. Opened up and revealed complexity described by others with a few hours of air time.

this was a wow for us. PnP'd and consumed over 6 hours. Upon opening, the wine smelled of dark cherries and some very nice earthiness. Over time, the nose evolved toward black tea leaf, cedar, dusty rose petals, and spice box- very complex. The taste matched the nose in all regards: dark fruit, powerful but also elegant. This ended up being one of the best Pinot's we've tasted in quite a while. Wish we had more! We would say that it is nearing peak, with 3-5 more years at this or higher level of quality.

Second bottle. First bottle consumed two years ago. This one was much improved. Concentrated red fruit, spice, and a velvety mouthfeel. Not thin like many of the Oregon 2007s.

This wine was drunk alongside the 05 Boillot Chambolle-Musigny and for me was the much better wine. Very nice fruit, strong savory elements, which I like in the Soters, very nice "sugary" mouthfeel, some spiciness and a good finish. Very nice pinot and a good representative of the somewhat problematic 07 vintage.

bright red, clear, light color. Huge and expressive nose of cherries, dark berries, floral, spice and earth. Very smooth tannins. Not quite balanced yet; could use another year or so, and looking forward to it. On the palate, cherries, dark berries, spice, vanilla, earth. Tannins are softened and still a bit more sharp than I prefer, but I suspect that extra year will bring this wine into a great balance. Long, fruity, delicious finish. (Doris 91. "I really like this wine", big nose, cherries, "good body")

Decanted two hours before consumption. Sexy perfumed nose of sous bois, pomegranate, black cherry, strawberry, ruby red grapefruit and rose water; all over-shadowed by the creamy French oak. There's an appreciable heat there too, it's noticeable. Nice sexy mouthfeel. Tart attack. Mid-palate sees a lot of acidity, clean red fruit, structure. Good wine.

Yamhill Carlton Tasting Event (The Armory, Portland Oregon): The nose is full and delectable. It shows apples, strawberries, some faint oak, and steaks on the grill! Raspberries show immediately on the palate, as well as some rhubarb. Cherry flavors show up on the middle along with wonderful acidity. Soft tannins dry the mouth out. The structure is excellent from beginning to end, and the fruit runs out long on the finish. This is really solid now, and it's got potential to get even better with age.

Really pretty pinot noir- this shows a bit more oak at this point than the North Valley bottling, as this one's built to last. The nose shows some oak, pretty reddish-to-purple fruits, and a hint of alcohol and tangy acidity that tickles the nose. On the palate, this wine is surprisingly approachable now if you can take some tannin. There's a lot of structure here, so hold on to this one for a number of years to catch it at its best. Shows the hallmarks of Soter pinots I've had - deep full flavors that always maintain a balance marked by nuance and subtlety, and fine-grained tannins that make this feel like the refined, premium pinot noir that it is. 92 now, up to 94ish in the future? 92-94 pts

Big bright fruit both on the nose and on the pallet. Super smooth yet it has a nice long finish for a young pinot. Could be better in a year or two but I can't see holding onto this wine for very long especially at this price point. An absolute MUST for Willamette Pinot fans!

This was one of the stars of the show for me, would have been nice to spend more time with this...really nicely structured and well aged.

Better on day 2. Really rich for the vintage. Great crushed sweet strawberries on the nose and palate. Deep earthy mushroom aromas. Nice stuff.

Pinot Noir blind tasting (Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck, Paragon): Tasted blind, vibrant ruby red, nice pinot nose, strawberry and red fruits. Fruity palate, showing freshness and still young. Good intensity and long finish.
