Intense aromas of crushed Blackcurrant leaves, freshly cut grass, ripe gooseberries with some bee wax. Full bodied with a high, mouth watering acidity. Kind of sweetish on the palate, with melon, ripe lime, gooseberries, some chalkyness, in the finish even a bit of white pepper. Quite persistent, a bit mineral and green aftertaste. Couldn`t get more typical NZ Sauvignon Blanc if it tried. And I´m licking it..

Strong nose of grassy notes and cat pee. Vibrant flavors of currant, gooseberries, nettles, grassy notes, some cat pee backed up with firm acidity. Racy stuff. Very good.

Virgin Lounge Perth Better than expected. Typical of the region, fruity and grassy, however mid-palate showed some welcome subtly. Almost dry, but perhaps a signal of dipping into 2 years of age.

Majors on purity of the fruit. Aromas of gooseberries, lime and peapod lead into refreshing zingy flavors of gooseberry and citrus that have a lingering intensity.

very pale gold, nearly colourless transparent, clear and bright. Intense gooseberry, tropical fruits, and grass aromas and flavours. medium bodied, fresh acidity, nice mineral notes, balanced by pleasant sweet. medium finish.
typical Marlborough, best Villa Maria Private Bin SB among recent years, modern style, reflects a great vintage, purity and some elegance.
IWC 2014 Gold, Great Value, IWSC 2013 Silver, Decanter Bronze. Marlborough Wine Show 2013 Gold; WE 89, WS 86, BC 84. Alc 13%, TA 7.4 gL, RS 3.6 gL
Identical to my previous note - I am in complete agreement with myself. The tension, purity and drive of this cleverly made wine are quite impressive at this price point.

Colour: light yellow and green. Nose: in he glass: very fine typical sauvignon bland-nose. Taste: gooseberry, good acidity. At the second day with some depth. Very nice with millet, aubergines, tomatoes and cheese, at the second day, better than with grilled mackerel with goosberry-compote on the first. First day (86-)87, second day 88(-89).

Pale white gold, the merest hint of green; pyrazines galore on the nose, aromatic, grass and gooseberry, flint, lime zest and a hint of mango, clean and fresh; the palate is crisp and dry, with considerable drive, herbal, restrained fruit flavours (blackcurrant, papaya), nice weight; good length. Very intelligent winemaking here.

{screwcap, 13%} Near clear. Gooseberry, passionfruit, lychee. Screams SB, somehow. Somewhat tart palate – by flavour more than texture; you wouldn’t call it high-acid by any means – adds a sweaty note to the green and white flavours. It’s light-bodied, and fairly short-finishing too. A bit dull.

You want a fresh zingy SB? This 2013 hits the spot. Intense aromas of pea pod, passion fruit and lime zest. Lots of refreshing fruit on the palate, mainly passion fruit and pineapple, then a crisp limey finish.

The nose is full of tropical fruits - mango, passion fruit, a little gooseberry, and coconut. Mango and passion fruit on the palate, this wine exhibits only medium minus acidity. Unusual in an NZ Sauv Bl making this a fruity, almost off-dry mouthful that is very quaffable! Drink with fish or seafood.
