Perhaps lacking a bit of the brightness of a fresh bottle, but surprisingly the nose remains beautifully floral (orange blossom)with citrus and a hint of age. Nice balance and fruit. This is very good and reliable from year to year. Pronounced grapefruit, gooseberry and stone fruit, with medium to medium (+) acidity and medium (-) body and alcohol at 12.5%. It is somewhat simple and linear from beginning to end. Still, at this price-point, this is tough to beat. It is drinking well now and will certainly keep longer, although I don't see any reason to hang on to it.

I get whiffs of cat pee (normal) and honeysuckle. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is my favourite SB, and Kim Crawford always offers a good combination of quality and price. Crisp and refreshing. Citrusy on the palate, with lime and grapefruit. Half bottle cost $9. Drink to 2016, preferably, to be safe, by Spring of 2016. I will buy again, as each vintage comes out. As with most mass produced wines, very little variation from year to year. Reliably good. Overall value: 4 stars of 5.

Straw-colored and nicely aromatic, this wine offers aromas of stone fruits, citrus, kiwi and lemongrass. Light-bodied, crisply acidic and with seamless alcohol (12.5%), it delivers flavors which mirror the nose. Solid in the middle and medium-length on the back end, this Sauvignon Blanc's freshness makes it a delightful summertime sipper. Enjoy it on its own or pare it with light fare such as grilled halibut. Drink now-2015.

Pale yellow. That classic shock of grapefruit, kiwi and lemongrass on the nose, a bit of sweet sage and green onion as well. Tangy acid, this wine is so fresh and clean. Green apple, kiwi and grapefruit taste ripe, yet the fruit tingles the palate. Moderate grass note, but also some fresh floral perfume and honeysuckle notes. A bit more nuanced and mild than a lot of Marlborough Sauv Blancs, and I like it.

Chartreuse straw. There's no finesse here, just full-throttled, in your face Marlborough notes of passion fruit, lychees, and grapefruit citrus. On the plus side it's crisp, dry, with zingy acidity, lime blossom, honeysuckle, and asparagus nuances, and a stony finish.

Tonight I'm trying out a new recipe for shrimp scampi and the directions call for half a cup of white wine ... I put some thought into it and decide to go for this (reportedly) fruity Kim Crawford Sauv Blanc ... the nice part about opening a wine for a recipe is that you get to finish the bottle and that's precisely what we did. In truth I have never been a huge fan of Crawford's Savvy B, I have found it serviceable and rather typical but never anything to write home about - but the hype surrounding the 2013 vintage for Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand peaked my interested and I decided that I could sacrifice a half cup to get to the bottom of this bottle. I can honestly say, for the first time ever, I am thrilled with a Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. The nose is an absolute beauty with lovely and alluring melon and tangerine notes; the palate seems to follow along nicely with what the nose has offered up, while adding grapefruit cocktail and a nice medium length finish. The acidity isn't in your face it's there to keep all that fruit in check and to keep it from becoming something Del-Monte would call "in light syrup". If you can put your hands on a few bottles of this 2013 version I would suggest doing so and saving them up for summer.

typical NZ style: gooseberry, fresh cut grass, a little pepper, but milder than most Marlborough S.B., light body, crispy acidity, slight sweetness, long dry finish with herbal hints. it shows some elegance within modern commercial style. this brand still stands at top level in both NZ and US market, though not made by Kim Crawford himself. super QPR (discounted price NZ$12).

typical NZ style: gooseberry, fresh cut grass, a little pepper, but milder than most Marlborough S.B., light body, crispy acidity, slight sweetness, long dry finish with herbal hints. it shows some elegance within modern commercial style. this brand still stands at top level in both NZ and US market, though not made by Kim Crawford himself. super QPR (discounted price NZ$12).

Weird Taste for a kc sb. No citric accents. Almost tasted like a boring chard. Must be an off bottle.
