30 decant at La Truffiere Paris Ok it’s too young but we’re at a restaurant and had to choose from what’s available. A big wine with a tight tannic spine. No surprise that the last sip 2 hours in was the best sip. Not expressive over all but did exhibit some cherry, oak and tannin. I own a few bottles in my cellar and this experience demonstrates the obvious, I won’t open another one for 10 years 93 today with upside

Loads of cherry fruit, hint of earth and sous bois. Balanced acidity and structure. Really good bottle of wine that may have gotten a bit lost in the line up.

Subtle nose, first the typical stable smell, but it goes away and gets replaced with red fruit. Lots of acidity on the palate, but also very fruity, red fruit again. It is young, but very smooth, with very long finish. Very good, but I would not say great.

Burgundy 2012 at Flatiron (Flatiron, SF): I like this! Simultaneously rich and light. Cherry and sandalwood - well-integrated oak and ripe fruit. Slight reduction.

After WWS, KEVIN & KELLY IN BURGUNDY – FAIVELEY, BOUZEREAU, MERME, REMOISSENET, DUJAC & COMTE LIGER-BELAIR; 11/11/2013-11/14/2013 (Burgundy): Black fruits, blackberry, cassis, mocha and a hint of licorice. Exceptional concentration, big scale, silky palates and sweet tannins. Another big scale GC chambertin. This seems to show riper and sweeter fruits via mocha and licorice. A hedonistic wine.
