Very dark red color. PNP, split bottle over 3 hours. Showing black cherry on the nose with quite a bit of spice. There's a savory note on the nose as well, with plum and a ittle tobacco. The palate is full bodied, black cherry, plum, blood meal, a bit vegetal, with a hint of damp earth playing off the vegetal elements, spice and pepper, with tobacco and wood notes on the back end. Tannins are round and ready now. Very enjoyable. 90+pts.

Vinturi aerated and then decanted for about 60min. Very dark purple with a pleasing blackberries nose and some forest floor but no noticeable heat. Smooth, mouth coating, full bodied with mixed berry fruits and some nice pepper notes. Med-long finish. Delicious, too bad this is my last bottle.....outstanding QPR.

Mature with dark purple color. Mild velvet earth on nose. Dark berries, noticeable tannins on first night but softened with air. Second day was a little better.

I notice alcohol by products on the nose. Palate is clean, mineral with medium tannins. New world in style with balance. Not a traditional Rioja. A touch of heat in the finish. This has aged well. Time to drink as this is unlikely to improve.

PnP, decanted and consumed over an hour, and it needed it. Opened up flat, minimal aromatics. Dark dried fruit, smooth. Good, just not too interesting. Paired well with eggplant parmigiana.

Nose is redolent of black fruits, grilled herb switches and charred wood. Full-bodied and rich with layered, silky tannins. There is a sweet blackberry jam element here, but there is something missing in the mid-palate. This is delicious upfront, but lacks anything distinctive or an intense palate presence. 89

Dark, almost purple colour. Very fresh nose with strongly hint of Chinese spices one can feel when entering take away spot. Well extracted, full bodied and surprisingly fruity on the palate. Not feeleing its age at all, would say it is still full of vigor.

Still a medium-purplish/ruby color. Primary nose of black and purple fruits as well as granitic minerals. Full bodied with plenty of black and blue fruits, smoky minerals and oak. Quite palate-coating, with excellent quality tannin, this is still youthful and quite delicious! Drink now-2019 91+ df 9.2

A very dark and hence rather modern version of Rioja and Tempranillo but nicely balanced and with an oak flavor that is not all about vanilla as in some traditional (or some cheaper) Tempranillo wines from Spain, but which adds more vegetal tobacco and tar flavors. There is a frame of ripe acidity and fine tannins, a mid palate with good weight and fine dark cherry fruit. The fruit flavors are a bit tart and do not show a lot of sweetness, but I like that. In summary, a well balanced wine, modern style but not sweet and flattering. No sign of age yet, but tasty now. Excellent cork quality, can probably go the distance if one wants to cellar it long term. - 90 points

impressive for what it is, although it made me miss a more traditional Rioja Reserva. Big bold modern style, with dark fruit and new oak on the nose (particularly apparent after running it through my new Vinturi). A full bodied wine featuring more dark fruit on the palate with some brambly spice and tannins that need more time to be fully resolved. Although the Vinturi smoothed out the rough tannic finish, this could still use at least another 5 years in the bottle. The size and concentration of this wine is the most impressive aspect, along with a moderately long finish with an orange-tinged acidity. And 2 days after opening it was still going strong. But now I want to revisit a LDH for comparison.

More fruit forward on the nose than the palate, but overall a well balanced tempranillo, with enough acidity to pair with pasta and meatballs. PnP, decanted and drank over 3 hrs without much change. Quite modern in style in terms of structure, with silkier tannins than I would expect from a Rioja. A solid and well-made, albeit not too exciting, tempranillo.

Beautiful bouquet with dark forest fruits, exclusive oak, some pepper and finesse. On the palate dark as well as red berries, some licorice, elegant acidity and tannin with still a soft bite. Early maturity now and will probably improve a bit. No problem cellaring this until 2020+. 90 – 91+ for today.

Consistent with my prior note: "A very distinctive nose of Chambord, with the raspberry jam fruit and some cocoa spice upon tasting. A pleasant long berry dominated finish. Quite interesting, and drinking well now. Decent value for a modern styled Rioja.". Still fruit forward. I'd like to see what my last bottle is like with 3-5 years more age on it.

- Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of black pepper, black currant, blackberry, banana and raisin. It's balanced and has flavours of vanilla and raisin with a full body. Leathery texture with a long finish - Dark fruit in the nose, pepper, tobacco, beautifully integrated wood, taste is rounded, warm, dark fuit, long pleasant finish. Can be enjoyed now for sure, but will develop.

A modern style Rioja. Smooth and silky and only six years old? Very fresh and energy filled. Lots of depth, complexity, and very long. Only other time I had this kind of experience with a young Rioja was drinking it in Spain. Ready to go, but will age nicely I suspect. These kind of unexpected surprises keep the hunt alive and well. 92+
