Deep red color with solid backbone after 18 years. Drinking very, very well. Drank with a 1997 Caymus and both were outstanding and perfectly ready to drink.

Dark red, virtually no bricking. Strikingly earthy at first, with more high-toned blackcurrant fruit coming to the fore later on, with a somewhat balsamic quality. Soft but persistently sweet and with some punch to the jammy flavors of blackish fruits. Long and concentrated if rather simple.

Dark ruby garnet. Initially earthy/spicy nose opens up to show more blackberry liqueur, cinnamon, apple skin and subtle mint notes. Quite dense and extracted but not hard or rough, with lowish acidity but sufficient juiciness and wonderful length. This has all the markings of a one-time monster that has mellowed with age into a harmonious entity. An outstanding warm-climate Cabernet.

Cherry nose with chocolate and spice impact. Dense texture with chocolate, tobacco and terroir aromas. Dense, concentrated with nicely integrated tannins. Long finish.

Nothing happening at first. Was given a couple of hours in the decanter to open up (and I believe a number of hours beforehand) - If anything it got worse as time went on and in my opinion was offensive in the end smelling a bit like rotting cabbage. Maybe TCA affected but definitely not a good bottle either way.

Deep, dark ruby red with beautiful edge color. High alcohol in the nose, with bright fruits. The nose was way above the glass. Impressive, tasty fruit in the mid-palate, and a finish that lingers and is substantial. The tannins were in check and inobtrusive. My first bottle of this wine, very impressive overall. With air, the nose softened somewhat, but the overall experience was just excellent. No decanting needed. Drink one now for sure. Bravo!

This didn't drink well for us. :( We bought it for $20 on close-out sale at a local NJ merchant; we returned the other 5 bottles.
