Still going strong, this is lean, showing marks of flowers, smoked meat, pepper, tobacco and olives. There’s a green note as well. Airy, light, delicious Syrah at peak I guess.

Last bottle of a wine that has provided a lot of pleasure. Meat, pepper, olives and fruit in pinpoint balance. I am not philosophically opposed to points, but I don't assign them and I don't usually comment in that context. But . . . if 90 points or so is average around here (not sure that is true, but scores seem to kind of cluster there) this should be scored a good solid step up from that.

I continue to be a big fan of this wine. Delicious forward NRhone Syrah. Easy drinking and that's no lefthanded compliment. I will drink the rest of these over the next year or two.

Good bright/ dark contrast in the form of bright, high-toned and cool berry fruit that is tempered by brooding pepper and meaty tones. Nice earthiness with a touch of that red floral, rhododendron bush/ rose petal profile that I always get from these. A touch of astringency late in the finish gives some added lift.
Good to Very Good

Couldn't keep my hands off this. Wanted to try another and this seems to be showing even better than the last. The nose is of bacon, smoke, tar, thyme, creosote, granite, blueberries, and plum jam. The palate has low dusty tannin and moderate acid. The finish feels a bit clipped so perhaps this wont age terribly long, but I'll try to hold mine a few more years to find out.

Peter Bothe's 41st Birthday (Boneyard Bistro): So much lighter than the Jamet I'm used to (the Cote-Rotie) but really nice bottle. Light on its feet but could still hold up to barbecue meat. Would be perfect red to serve with barbecue on a hot summer afternoon. Still has time left.

Sappy, meaty, and just outright gulpable. A screaming winner of a wine; no pretense, not for contemplation, but with a good stew on a winter's night in front of a fire, very satisfying.

Opened to accompany a rosemary grilled whole chicken. A lovely match. The wine is ruby in colour, with a lovely nose of violets, spices and smoke. The acidity is vibrant and the fruit, while there, is subdued--which makes this a food wine. Delicious, drinking now. Give it a couple of hours of air.

When this was poured people around the room were saying, ahh now this is syrah. Hows that for typicity? The nose definitely points to the Northern Rhone with notes of blueberry, plum jam, violets, thyme, grilled meat, pepper, capers and tar. The palate is plush with reasonably good acid and moderate sweet tannin. For me it is a bit bombastic and young at the moment and I perceive a slight blue bubblegum note that I attribute to carbonic maceration. I expect this will settle down in a few years, so I'll try not to touch my next for at least a couple years.

Lovely Syrah, cracked pepper, violets, fresh and lively fruit. So much more material here compared to the similar wine from Andre Perret that we tried last night. Jim and Ea visiting from New Ro.

A nose of cracked pebber and violets. Lovely dark-fruited palate, alive and kicking, spices and smoked meat. Good level of acidity, this is is fresh. With BBQed meats, new potatoes and a green salad on a hot summer day at home. Fun and joyful wine.

Beautiful young fruity nose, very pretty wine on the palate, with "pure" Syrah fruit, violets and some meat. A bargain at the $11 I paid, and I think at twice the price. Would drink over the next couple of years.

Even though this is supposed to be a quaffer, this time around the wine took a few hours to fully open up and it was much better on the second day after a night in the fridge. Juicy with a display of small berries and spices. Fresh and a joy to drink.

Love the weight. Floral with a little bloody beef mixed in. Good cut. Great with hearty food. Will have to see if I can round up some more of this one.

Lovely, light-bodied Syrah but with plenty of juicy fruit and sizzling meats. A little floral aroma adds a nice touch. A fun weeknight wine that's open for business already.

A great, easy drinking Syrah from Jamet. The fruit is lively and spicy and there is a good level of acidity to provide freshness. A genuine wine with great local feel. Will go well with numerous dishes.

Une bombe de fruits rouges, de la fraîcheur.
Excellent rapport qualité/prix.

Consistent with my previous bottle. About as perfect a "weeknight" Northern Rhone as one could possibly conceive.
