Bottle was in perfect conditions, cork came out flawlessly. Decanted for 3 hours which seemed to help opening up the classic Bordeaux nose. Mature but lively. This still has a few years to go. It's definitely got enough substance to improve further.
Nice, mature Bordeaux aromas of cassis, toffee, pencil shavings. Somewhat earthy on the nose. Velvety and smooth on the palate, medium bodied, nice fruit, the tannins are still there, but quickly fading. Pleasant aftertaste. Drinks well now, will probably not improve further
Classic notes of 10 year old Bordeaux from a medium quality wine. Some bricking and an orange tinge on the wine - nose is white pepper, herbs. a touch of rasberry. Great feel in the mouth - the tannins are fading but still present to give this wine an aged but elegant feel. The fruit on the palate is a less well defined - definately time to start drinking this wine if you have any. Lacks depth of fruit to be a great wine, but for me this is how a mid-range 10 year old Bordeaux should taste - and shows the benefits of aging as well. Good balance, nice follow through.
Shy, tight nose that never came around with only slight hints at wood and red fruits. However, in the mouth it showed plenty of finesse and elegance with delicate fruits of cassis and dusty blueberries, a firm but gentle backbone and a light but long finish.
keith brought this to dinner at villagio. shared with jean and pat. we were celebrating our 35th anniversary and keith's 70th birthday. keith was proud of the wine. it was hard for me to get a handle on it. flavor profile was not forthcoming. it tasted like a bourgeois wine to me. i mistook it for chianti. profesional reviews say that it will go a few more years. i don't see much further happening with it.
