Sandeman MG Vertical (PP81): From MG bottle. Dense and compact dark plum fruit core. Sweet but also intense with a good acidity. Good balance but also very primary. Lovely wine.

Cork came out intact thanks to Gabe and his butler's friend. Very sweet with figgy pudding and baking spice; rich and round and very ready to drink; heavy body, long finish. I don't think more age would add much to what it's got right now.

D+0h: cork get's out intact with a butler's friend, quite a lot of deposit in the filter and the bottle, smells of blackberry, D+2h: dark as ink, at the rim at little bit purple red, smells of currant, minerality (wet slate) and in the background a little bit of eucalyptus and pepper, medium body, quite sweet, sweeter than I remember it from last time, in the mouth currant and minerality, in the aftertaste pepper and acidity, good length (30 sec.), lovely port.

D+0h: the cork totally crumbles while pulling it out, quite a lot of sediment in the filter, smells of blackcurrant D+2h: dark as ink, on the rim a little bit purple red, smells of dried blackcurrant and eucalyptus, medium body, not that sweet, more "half-dry", in the mouth a mix of blackcurrant and plum, in the aftertaste plum and a dash of acidity, good length (30 sec), very tasty port, however I don't think it will last much longer, better to drink up in the next two years.

D+0h: cork comes out intact when removed with a standard pulltap corkscrew, quite a lot of sediment in the teafilter and the bottle, smells of currant and blackberry, D+1h: purple red colour, at the rim cherry red, smells of currant, slightly of eucalyptus and of a certain minerality (it reminds me of wet stone), full body, not that sweet for a port, in the mouth currant, some pepper and a dash of acidity, in the aftertaste currant, acidity and some pepper, good length (30 secs.), a tasty and pleasant to drink port, yet not overly complex. It doesn't need that much air now. After one hour it began to "sing" from the decanter with the scent of currant filling the room. We drank it from D+1h till D+2,5h, but there was not any change in the wine.

Deep center, red rim with a little sign of age. Sweet, spicy, blackberries, plums, black cherries. Smooth, sweet, blackberries, alcohol, black cherries and kirsch, touch of oak, green pepper, great length. Better after a couple of days, spicy youngish, but fully mature, port.

D+0h: quite a lot of deposit in the filter, smells of gooseberry D+3h: purple red, on the rim cherry red, smells of minerality and of raspberry + eucalyptus, very smooth in the mouth, not overly sweet, in the mouth raspberry and gooseberry, medium body, in the aftertaste acidity, good length (30 sec)

Dark ruby red. A lovely, fruity (lychee?), well balanced and easy drinking single vineyard vintage port. Light and elegant style. Cheap and a real bargain.

50+5+12+16+7 Blueberry, spice, fig, plum. Decent complexity. Very smooth and not at all hot. This is one of those Ports that could sneak up on you without warning.

Dense and super-well structured. Great ripeness in addition to lots of black currant, cassis, and mineral characteristics. Firm tannin in the finish. Wonderful!

Easygoing and approachable, but intense and serious as well; nose of stewed fruit and blueberry syrup, with just a hint of asian spices; lush, intense plum and blueberry flavors, with a bit of coffee, minerals, and a savory meaty note; perfect crunchy tannins for balance, and a long, long fruity finish, with a note of cardamom. A perfect finish to our Christmas dinner, and much enjoyed by all, especially the 20-something kids, who are quite fond of rather sweet high end imperial stouts and other dark barrel-aged craft beers.

Very approachable almost sweet blueberry cedar vanilla style. The easiest (light) non-rose Port I have had, but in a good way. No heat at all. No walnuts. Bright easy going fruit. A port for those who don't generally like port. A nice find for $18.

Correcte sans plus même à ce prix!

Similar notes to Wahootaster. Blueberry, coffee, and asian spices were spot on. Lots of plum too. Decanted for an hour.
