Subtle but elegant nose. Notes of wet earth, flowers, dark cherry, and cassis. Sweet and smooth on entry, fine and integrated tannins. Slightly dry front palate (green?) but otherwise very few hard edges. 13% alcohol with no heat and low acidity level. Surprisingly delicious for a village wine in a so-so vintage. Buy it if you can find it. 90-92 pts.

DRC Tasting Group (Kirkland, WA): Lots of green notes on this one (peppers!), plus some spicebox. Still a touch green on the palate, but good depth and structure. Finish is framed by tight tannins and bright acids.

Decanted one hour. I was expecting the worst, a bad case of the green meanies, but although there was a slight herbal note when first opened, by dinner time I thought this was a very good burgundy. Nice aroma of candied red pinot fruit. Nice red fruit and good acidity on the palate, tannins not quite resolved. Decent length to the finish. I think this will get even better in 2-3 years. Nice enough now but I probably jumped the gun since I only have one other bottle.90 pts.now with some upward potential.

Opened and decanted 30 minutes prior to comsumption. Upon placing my nose in the decanter, the first words out of my mouth were dirt. A wonderful earthy red berry fruit with perhaps a slight medicinal hint on the palate. Tannins are still present, but as the wine opens they integrate. However, even after an hour in the decanter they still have a little grip on the finish. Would love to taste this one again in 2-3 years. Really enjoyed this bottle!

Trip to Burgundy; 3/20/2006-3/24/2006 (Burgundy): Tasting, brief note. Sweet black fruit to start, slightly more rugged finish. Very good Villages level, especially in this vintage.
