Debatable wine. For some around the table it was slightly premox, others felt it was just showing it's 22 years and was not premox. I fell on the latter side; it was fine but fading for sure. There's still some acidity and shows some complexity for about 30 min but then fell apart.

Fresher than the last bottle, without the nuttiness found in that first encounter. Smooth but still lively, with a hint of tarry oak along with an abundance of fruit. Nicely balanced acidity that continues to provide a lift to this wine, though it has a more secondary role than it might in a younger wine.

Luxurious golden color. G. was a bit put off by the initial nose, presumedly the nuttiness it shows. On the other hand, I loved it. Nutty, yes but still some tropical style fruit which carries to a creamy palate with acidity . Actually, with just a touch of air, some of the nuttiness blows off, revealing a bit of spice in the background. A distinct woodiness on the finish, though well supported by and integrated with the fruit. I wouldn't call this premox, in fact I think it's lovely today in a rather advanced way. I agree with a previous reviewer...bottles like this one should be consumed sooner than later.

From a perfect looking bottle purchased upon release, this wine showed a deep gold center with light yellow rims. The nose was quite intense, as one might suspect from the VV labeling, but in a more sauvignon blanc way as opposed to chardonnay. The flavors focused on peach and pear with some attractive wood spice in the background.
It was quite rich in the mouth with attractive acidity the kept all that fruit reasonably in balance. Slowly, it kept getting better over the course of 5 hours, so it will certainly hold for many years. However, with its unusual flavor profile, I find it hard to predict if this wine will get better or not. Tasted several times with consistent notes.

This was simply superb. We had a wine tasting at work and people went gaga over this despite it being served in horrible plastic glasses! Huge nose of beurre blanc and toasted brioche followed by tons of oyster/sea shells. Really superb chassagne.

diep geel, wel helder en fris ogend. Geur doet denken aan boterbabbelaars en citrusvruchten, licht wat noten en vanille. smaak is vol met mooie balans. leeftijd komt wat door, lichtjes wat ouderdomstonen.

This was a much better/more open showing than my first bottle. Wine was immediately open for business on the nose with some sharp citrus notes that followed through in the mouth with lots of minerals and citrus in a medium bodied, slightly oily style. Very enjoyable.

Prachtig. Finesse. Niets te merken van enige oxidatie. Gedronken bij de zalm.

On the first night - served a little too cold. Nose was closed and wine was somewhat flat. Color was also pale.
Over several evenings, the wine improved. Color became more golden, nose was slightly floral, on the palate - somewhat acidic, medium bodied but refined. Went quite well with food.

Served with seafood risotto of red mullet, haddock, prawn and scallop
At first reticent and under-whelming, though the wine seems packed, it so tightly wound thast one only gets a hint at the goodness ready to burst forth. It took an hour of air to strut its stuff,
Deep and golden it has a great nose of poached pear and custard and a lovely mineral streak. The palate is full and concentrated though the richness is tempered by some acidity typical of Chassange and the vintage. The palate is focused and packed with white peaches and blossom, with a hint of honey and a caress of oak. It’s still a couple of years away from true readiness and in time the acidity will loosen its grip a little to let the flavours really blossom, I have faith.

Tasting. Large scaled, ripe fruit aromas. Somewhat simple on palate, at its peak now. Good chalky minerality and reasonable minerality through to good finish, moderate length.

Lovely showing. Just hanging on but drink up. Very sweet, honeyed with deep golden fruits. Acidity just holding it together still.

Full bodied, rich and punchy but somewhat blurred rather than precise or well-delineated on the palate.
