Stewed red fruits, dried cherries and for the first time for me with this wine attractive background spice. More structured than some previous bottles, this offered better delineated flavors on the palate. Faded after 45 minutes.

A wine past its prime but still of some substance. Cherry and raisin complemented by dry earth and dry leaves. Not complex but no negative characteristics.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Double blind tasting. Nose immediately took me to Burgundy, and I gladly stayed there for a few minutes before tasting the wine. Flavors were alas a big more structured than I'd expect for an old Burg. Some dark fruit lingering on the edges with lots of earthy textures, and a finish that was eventually very simple and too acidic. Started low 90s, ended mid 80s.

Trip to Boston; 6/4/2008-6/9/2008: perfect looking bottle - almoust too perfect! what a wine! tertiary and secondary characteristics, asian spices, still rich ripe core of fruit, lovely acidity - fresh and with a long finish of spices and sweet red berries. touch of leather/tobacco notes as well... YUM...

Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind Rhone Varietals (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind. Enchanting old wine aromas, less interesting flavors. Popped-and-poured, this fading rather quickly.

Hollow across the middle. Faint red fruit notes, dusty soil, but undifferentiated.

This bottle was well past its peak with stewed red fruits and some earth notes. Drinkable but not noteable

Isa's birthday at Kitchen a Bistro: Lots of olives, earth, tannins fully integrated. Way past its prime but interesting.
