Cherry and chocolate on the nose. Raspberry, cranberry and mocha on the palate, along with some coffee, beef jerky and leather notes. Very dry, although played quite nicely with food.

Tout à fait d'accord avec Jeff Leve qui le décrit parfaitement plus bas. J'ajouterai que ses tannins sont plus souples que beaucoup de 2005 qui peinent à s'assagir même après plus de 12 ans.

Fully mature, and slightly on the rustic side, there is still plenty of spicy, dark red fruits and licorice on the nose and palate to enjoy. The wine was made from a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot and 3% Carmenere.

I guess I just like this wine better than the rest for whatever reason. This particular bottle is in prime health - lovely opaque dark ruby with enticing if not exuberant nose of cedar and dark fruits. This bottle is in the perfect place right now with savory tertiary notes coming into clear view. Not the longest finish, but a very enjoyable bottle.

Very slight bricking at rim, otherwise not showing it's age. Nose is somewhat muted but shows a bit of red fruits and cedar. Tannins nicely resolved. The palate is somewhat flat, fruit has faded with mostly earth notes coming through. Not bad, especially at age 11 but lacks excitement.

This is drinking really well at this point. I poured with a Vinturi so the nose was more present with subtle fruit, some earthiness, maybe a little cedar. The finish was medium and smooth. I am a fan of Belle-Vue and this style fits nicely into our preferences for solid affordable Bordeaux. I think the rating is understated here as somebody drank this a little too early and provided a range of low scores across 7 or 8 bottles. A properly cellared bottle should be very enjoyable and a solid 89-90. Cheers!

1 glass coravined. Deep ruby core, narrow ruby rim. Nose a touch reticent - ripe, dark fruit, touch of smoke and mineral. Medium/full bodied, youthful purple and black fruits, vanilla, glossy, very fine tannins, decent acidity, a touch tight still. Modern, very good, needs a bit more time.
Remainder of bottle drunk on 16/11/2016, more open, some red fruit, more mineral, altogether brighter - fresher on the palate too with a touch of earth and chocolate on the finish. Coravining has probably accelerated the ageing process and this is certainly better for it. Next bottle 2018.

Similar to last years note. From 1/2 bottle. Still very young. Nose was initially closed but gradually gave up some cedar, blackberry, raspberry fruit, and earth. Taste is just starting to get tertiary mature notes. Good fruits, some light oak, earthiness, moderate salinity and moderate tannins. This still needs time to come around. Wait 2-5 years

Drinking really well right now, a nice fruity nose, blackberry, subtle touch of vanilla. Nice structure and well balanced, its hard to stop. Pop and pour and enjoy!
Clear deep ruby. Clean nose of blackberry, dark cherry, subtle cedar and earth. Palate has med tannin and acidity but nicely balanced and integrated. Fruit on the palate is light and classically Bordeaux. This is not a California cab and as such the fruit is subtle.

The meme for this wine is "tight and light." It is as if you have a winemaker with Grand Cru ambition (lots of tannic structure) working on a budget with Cru Bourgeois grapes (relatively thin, austere fruit). For all its rave review from the wine press during the early barrel tastings, one would have been happier if this wine were sweeter, more up-front and accessible. As it is, I am prone to think the fruit (fading blackberry and black cherry) will disappear long before the tannins.

I bought 2 bottles of this long ago. The first was consumed probably 4-5 years ago.I wasn't that thrilled with it, however this shows just what Bordeaux can do with some years in the cellar. The colour was very youthful, purple at the rim and dense. The nose was sublime old leather, and dark fruits. The palate was smooth and powerful, yet elegant, though the alcohol did poke through a wee bit.the finish was grippy and mineral. Not really understanding the earlier notes on this bottle. Barnyard nose once opening. Tannins are firm, but sign of a well constructed wine. great taste, with that subdued French flavors that you don't get in a comparable California "bordeaux blend." Extremely pleasant bottle. Looking forward to drinking another.
Hard minerals and plum in the nose; touch of pie crust/cherry pie; medium body, soft but good acidity, a bit rustic and dry grippy tannins, but enjoyable. Nice with a decent steak.

Nose of shoe polish, dry stones, apple skin, ham hocks, herbs de provence and lillies. Narrow entry, with lithe red cherry, apple cobbler, vanilla, and a modicum of minerality. Best when it is opening up in the first 10 minutes. Afterwards the wines body shrinks--it is never really creamy and opulent, but slim. Oh yes, there is alot of nice food-friendly acidity which, together with the swift accessibility, makes this an excellent restaurant wine. Tasting at Kapcsandy Winery (and is 08 even better than 07?): Purple at the core, ruby at the rim. Very nice nose; earthy with cassis. A bit understated, but at the same time complex. Decanted for an hour. This is a really very good wine that could develop into a quite special wine. Apple skin and cedarwood nose, fading into blackberries and a hint of vanilla. The palate is smooth and luxurious with blackcurrant, cherry, light cocoa, vanilla and brambles.

My own fault; I opened this wine way too early. Even after decanting and leaving for 2 hours, the wine was still closed & slightly astringent. Despite sipping slowly, it never fully opened by the time the bottle was finished. The wine hinted at underlying berry fruits (although I couldn't distinguish which particular berry or berries) and whatever hidden depths this wine may have it will take quite a few years yet before its flavours decide to come out and play. Disappointing.
