  • Solid as before. This is rich, yet elegant. Not a lot of complexity, but great for what it is. No rush on this one - drink over the next 10+ years.

  • Not as vibrant as my last year's bottle, but this was still an excellent mature village burg. Lots of leaves, paint and strawberries on the nose. Lively cherry dominates the palate, some olives and strawberry preserve is mixed in. The tannins are fully resolved at this point as this appears to have reached full maturity. Very smooth wine, medium length and complexity. Pleasure to drink.

  • This was a great bottle of burgundy. Shy on the nose throughout the night giving a little bit of black fruits and no funk. Poured half an hour before drinking and this was ready to go. The thing that stood out most about the wine was its balance - perfect harmony of sharp acid and dry tannins, fruit and ellegance. This was a dark medium+ bodied wine. A lot of sour cherries and blackberries on the mouth, yet the fruit was not in your face. Silky texture and dry tannins coat the mouth. While the wine will soften in 3-5 years, I really enjoyed the tannins today. Nice long finish. Good complexity, but not mind blowing. Excellent for a village wine. This will last a long long time, but is drinking just fine today.

    Price paid: About $35
