Mid gold. Plenty of light honey, lime and some lemon, red apples, white flowers. Still fairly sweet but not cloying, decent acidity. Luscious in mouth. Enjoyable.

Mid gold. Lovely petrol and lychee nose. On the palate this is smooth and round and only just medium sweet with an oily slightly viscous texture. Smooth, mellow and fully mature but with a slight acidic kick on the finish which says I'm not done quite yet. Yes this will last a few years more but I think this is perfectly ready right now. I have one more bottle that I will drink this year.

Corovin sample: light gold, lovely viscosity clear & bright. Delicate petrolly nose, classic riesling , medium sweet with balancing acidity, altogether a very attractive wine at 15 years old & would still keep.

Score based on second evening. First evening it was a bit simple, though lovely sweet grape essence simple. Decent acidity but came over a bit sweet and honeyed. Second evening the simple sweetness was all dialed back and a better balanced wine emerged. Lots of crisper apples, lighter honey, ripe melon, flowers etc. Long, good acidity. Still has a while to go.

If this would be served blind with the Kabinett, I would have thought this is the Kabinett and vice versa. The Spätlese tastes less sweet and shows less concentration of its aromas than the Kabinett. After one day from the half emptied bottle it is quite onedimensional showing predominately pineapple and some spices in the finish and less acidity than on day one. Though very pleasant and easy going, even delivering fun, I have expected more. Even if the colour is less developed, I believe that it has shorter longevity and less aging potential than the Kabinett. It's quite confusing.

Last of the 2005 spätleses, a few ausleses still left. This is fully mature but not tired. Soft complex nose, exotic fruit and a little petrol. Fresh fruity complex taste, finishes a bit short. Does not have the enourmous length of the auslese, but is still very fine.

Magnificent! Superb complex nose with slight petrol notes, a waxy element and pineapple. Fresh attack, slightly sweet fruit-driven taste (apricots, passion fruit) beautifully supported by very fine acidity. Not cloying at all. Amazing freshness at age 11. Time does not seem to have any grip on this beauty.

medium golden colour, discreet nose of Pineapple and minerals. Quite sweet on the palate, but also lacking complexity. I expected more. Fully mature and no further positive evolution to be expected.

This needs about a 4 hour decant. It was super up-front and clipped after the first hour. The finish filled out after 2-3 more hours, but the nose actually had more matchstick than earlier. Salil's descriptors below are dead-on, but I got a slight roughness and not the length. Very rich for a Spatlese... definitely declassified. High auslese ripeness but slightly less acidity than you would expect from a Mosel. Drinks a little like a Rheingau from a structure standpoint. Still needs another 5-10 years to come into the optimal drinking window, but good now with a long decant.

Dégustation Spätlesen (Salle de dégustation Laurier): Nez de sucre d'orge, safran. La bouche est très riche, moins tendue que les autres mais avec une très belle élégance. C'est ample et très complexe comme le no 2, mais en plus riche. 93 pts

This tastes like Beerenauslese in a Spätlese wrapper. It's packed with ripe peaches, red apples, brown sugar and sweeter tropical and floral notes with the sweetness and intensity turned up to 11. There's great balance though with bright acids beneath matching the sweetness and richness, and impressive length.

Quite a pale colour, with gloriously rich pure fruit that tends to hide the acidity and minerality. Incredibly primary at the moment, and I think I'll enjoy this more with a few years more ageing, when the fruit/acid/minerality will come more into balance for my palate.

Super German riesling, singing right now and for many years to come. Unbelievably low alcohol (8°), medium-sweet and with penetrating freshness. Delicate fruit intertwined with maturing riesling aromas - not, it is not petrol/diesel, but something like it - make for a very complex nose. Lovely taste, finish a bit short, which prevents the score from going through the roof.

Really good. Probably better with time. Sweet on the nose with apricot, honey, lanolin and hints of sulpher. Similar replays on the palate with decent acidity, slightly spritzy taste in the mouth but does not detract. Long fruit and honey driven finish. Really seductive. 92 for now.

This was much better after its third day in the fridge. It has the elements of slate, acidity, and the 2005 flavor profile from pineapple to strawberry pie. One glass at a time is the only way to go at this point.

Light with golden hues, lemon and honeysuckle on a forward nose. Pineapple and tropical fruits, quite sweet seeming but good acidity kept it clean. Long finish with a rather full body. Good wine.

Shows great potention. Sappy and tangy on the palate with great precision and focus. Primarily fruit dominated at this time with only hints of slate. This will only get better.
