Dominated by pear and green apples. Some underlying honey notes. Did not enjoy this as much as expected, but might be due to inadequate stemware, hence no rating.

At Chez Panisse with friends--slightly chilled. This was a fabulous white, with an aroma that was rich, but flavors that were sharp and focused. I commented about a "cleaness" that may have really been describing the combination of brightness in conjuction with the silky mouth feel. Gotta get more of this!

Ripe pears jump out of the glass followed by peach and white flowers. Apricot and candied fruits are also present in the background. Medium-full bodied with elegant minerality. This bottle went very fast!!

Sous vide experiment salmon dinner w/ Eimy--showing more interestingly than last time, fresh and vibrant with nice viognier character (floral, peach, jasmine).

SFwine double blind night (Kev's pad, San Francisco): Perfumed, floral nose with peach, honeysuckle/spice, brown sugar. Dry on the palate and moderately oily in the mouth, with flavors of almonds and grilled peaches. Somewhat understated, not a gusher. Very nice balance.

Big, ripe bold viognier--not for those looking for a subtle and mineral/floral wine. Huge peach, ripe apricot, lush. Wonderful candied oranges and peaches on the nose, with a touch of blanched almond. On the palate--viscous and silky. I must admit I like the more steely/violet/mineral Condrieus like Cheze and the less heralded producers like Mouton pere et fils, but this is a beauty regardless.

Brought back from the Domaine recently. The color was a light medium beautiful golden color. The nose was beautiful and clean with tons of fruit and minerals. Canteloupe, grapefruit, a hint of mandarin oranges (surprisingly not too much peach/ apricot when served blind- it became clearer when the wine was unveiled ). The mouthfeel was absolutely delicious. Bright citrus, honey, tons of stones. Almost crytallized pure fruit essence and minerals. A wonderful wine. Pure and fresh and unabashedly delicious. Drink up. Not bad for a 15 Euro wine. I don't know if this is the winemaking or the year, but hands down the best Condrieu I have ever had. Maybe it's the summer heat here in AZ, but for me: 95pts

Oxidized, what a shame, I was looking forward to this.
