At Bodegas Baigorri: Deep ruby color; the liquid coats the sides of the glass. Nose of coffee, chocolate, black cherry with some heat. On the palate it has good acid balance, but a bit hot. Full bodied, silky and mouth-filling flavors with a long finish. Perhaps off-dry. This reminds me of a ruby port in many ways. It went better with the 'helado de maceración carbónico' that they served it with. The ice cream counteracted the sweetness of the wine and lessened the heat of the alcohol. Had at the bodega. This comes from very old Tempranillo vines. 14% abv.
