The wine was served with some fresh wild venison tenderloin sauteed with market-style bacon and wild mushrooms. This pinot may hev been a little too weak with an aged beef but after decanting and a vigorous pour the wine made the food perfect and the food made the wine perfect as well. Too bad the elements were too rare for us to repeat! Very agreeable wine. Light berry and tannins with decent acidity. The bottle was supposedly past its time but I suspect it could have lasted another year. If you have the fortune of some venison tenderloin, bacon, and mushroom, and you have a small budget for wine, this is your pick. Funny, I know... I had a 2005 in 2007 and it was terrible. This bottle grew up a little.

A slightly vegetal nose and a very thin wine. The salesman gave us the caveat emptor as the label states the varietal and in English to boot. Not a promising sign for a Burgundy. About as bad as the Drouhin 2006 Bourgogne.

First time around really didn't offer much, but this time was quite nice. Very drinkable socially and paired well with tenderloin. Impressive and agreeable.

Light red colour. Liked the nose - burgundian "barnyard/wet dog", earth, strawberries, raspberries, some pepper and rosepetals. On the other hand the taste was a little disappointing. Light bodied, very wattery entry - not picking up many tastenotes within the first 1-2 sec. Though the midpalate it increases with notes of raspberries, earth (almost muddy) and minerals. Good firm tannins. Unfortunately it finishes a little like it started - short, wattery and perfumed/alcoholic. Decent pinot at 12$ but not something that will keep my awake at night. Will drink my last bottle chilled on a varm sommer evening with grilled chicken or salmon.

medium red color, reticent nose with a little deeper berry sense, body is high-toned berry fruit but simple and relatively short in length. A good, quaffable drink with a casual dinner, but no more. Still, a decent value and better than any $11 California pinot.

nice wine for the price, tart, acidic but with good fruit and balance make this a decent food wine. light bodied with typical burgundian qualities, not extracted and short - medium finish. would buy again for $12

A very accessible and affordable red Burgundy. This is the sort of wine that is a great party gift. Although it's not an inspirational wine, it is a solid value.

Floral nose (roses?) with something dark and sweet lurking underneath. Fruity and juicy on the palate with a few floral notes. Not earthy. Pretty light on the palate until the finish, when the tannins reveal their presence. Slight spice on the finish. Decent pinot.

Very light in color. At the first zip I thought it was gonna be an extraordinary delicious wine, but somehow the finish screw everything up. Maybe it's the winter and my nose is congested, but I couldn't tell much complexity. I did get, however, some nuances of a "guayaba" fruit marmalade that I used to like when I was a kid. I would give it 90-up points just for bringing up old good memories, but I guess I have to be fair; 83 is my score. I enjoyed it....

Popped and decanted. Light to medium ruby red. Big sweet cherry nose. Nice mouthful of pinot flavors, although very primary and simple. 30 minutes after decanting the nose got a little more earthy, however the palate disappeared. Started tasting like bleach initially then just shut down completely. Put back in bottle/fridge and will check it out tomorrow. Day 2: nothing

Extremely light color, it almost competes with some darker rosés. A bit of light strawberry at first, maybe just one strawberry. Nice silky mouthfeel. Very disconnected finish with a lot of acid at first. Red cherry on the finish but again very weak, more like cherry flavored fruit juice than fresh cherry. The acid on the finish was too harsh until I started eating.

Color was beautiful ruby and "light" as pinot noir should be. The nose was a pointy peppery sort and the palate acidic and of medium-light fullness. The aftertaste was lingering and quite long. Drink now.

Pleasant nose, though I couldn't tell what it was I was smelling. Almost seemed like flowers more than fruit. Not very complex and very light, a very quick but pleasant finish. A good Burgundy for 15 bucks. Something nice to let someone drink who likes whites like 12 dollar Rieslings, or who doesn't drink real good Burgundies on a regular basis.

blah. easy drinking. fruity bright. good for when the crew is 3 bottles in and don't really care about tasing anymore. not very burgundy-like. more of a new world pinot.

Hmmm. Very light color, almost rose-like. Nose not bad, showed promise for $11, then the palate killed it. Thin and acidic, simple, basically cool-aid with alcohol. Guess I'll have to wait for the better wines to experience the "magic" of 2005...

A very light-weight wine. Translucent purple, not much body and short finish. Served slightly cool it was refreshing, but not very interesting. Very light nose - a bit dull.

The best $7 pinot I have ever had. If it was a $15 bottle I would say "thin" or something like it but this is a massive QPR so why would I?

Nice color for a pinot which hides a bit of the scent - unique but tamed. Taste of peppered cherry.
