Less fruity than before, still drinking well. Some coffee, oaky, dark fruit, after it opens up it is more balanced. It seems lighter now, more mainstream Tempanillo than before. Would definitely say drink them if you have them, feels like its at peak or just over the peak.

Fruit-forward, well integrated, with its tannins well-tamed by time. Dark fruit, cherries, ripe peaches, leather on the nose. Pepper and thyme and hints of menthol in the mid-palate. Long, quiet, and brooding finish. I am bit surprised at the date range given on CT as this is holding up beautifully, though probably drinking at peak now. I have owned a few bottles of this since its release and it was well worth the wait!

Fairly dry with a good bit of tannins. Venturi'ed the first night, then just p'n'p the second night (vacuumed overnight). Better flavor that in past reviews. Some coffee, oaky, dark fruit, after it opens up it is more balanced. It drinks more like a Burgundy than a Tempranillo. Funk isn't overly present at this time. Had it with applewood bacon pork tenderloin, good compliment.

Still drinking well, although the primary fruit is fading and the earthiness is taking over. Might be a year past it's prime. Tannic finish, needs food.

This wine is BLACK! For a 2004, seeing the color, deepest darkest black/purple I was astonished. But I've always felt #blackwinesmatter, so I forged onward. The fruit was in there "somewhere" - however the earthy flavors and smells were super evident. I was unsure what to make of them, mostly. And then my sense memory kicked in! After a couple of hours in the glass this wine was smelling seriously like the can of old used bacon grease my Mom used to keep under the sink (she'd pour the bacon grease into is whenever she cooked bacon). A bit salty, very meaty, and a little funk - okay a lot of funk! So, interesting wine. Probably last forever as far as I can tell. But I had about a glass and a half and called it a night. Unsure what to tell you at this point.

Cork came apart and the wine had to be strained. Still somewhat tannic with a Decient nose. Can not really pick out any paticular flavors but the wine dark well over the course of the evening. Not sure if it was worth the price but it was enjoyable.

Ripe palate. Espresso, dark berries and dusty tannins on the palate. Wonderful, rustic texture, with a finish that almost fades before reviving with a wonderful, lingering caress.

This is still quite a tannic wine with very dark fruit...for me tannin was more powerful than the evident fruit and extraction...hoping it comes into balance with time..will leave alone for a while

Nice nose but a disjointed pallet that lacks depth. Very disappointing compared to the 2005, which is big and great. Way over priced as I have tasted many wines under $15 that can put this wine to shame.

Very dense, dark color. Nose nice but a bit reticent. Tannic structure goes well with the fruit. Not a refined and delicate wine. More full bodied and parhaps, rustic. Not good on the second day after refrigerating.

Quite tannins and drying at this stage. This is more tannic than anything, though. The mocha, coffee and cocoa are sitting there, but the notes are muted and overshadowed by the tannins. Muted darker fruit coaxed out after swirling. This may eventually settle down, but not sure. This was our only bottle so we'll never know.

agree with other reviewer that this just isnt that interesting...too much oak, not enough fruit or complexity...needs food...not bad, just not what i was hoping

Deep, dark red color with incredibly long legs. Nose of black cherry, plum, nutmeg, cedar, and a hint of chocolate. On the palate, flavors of anise, cherry, tobacco, and leather. Velvety, very chewy texture. Wonderful tannins (big yet balanced). Full-bodied, big wine. Long finish, with slight sweet notes.

PNP and drank over a few hours. Nose is strong dark fruit, black currant, tobacco. Full bodied, tastes of cedar, tobacco, charcoal with dark fruit. Finish turns a little sweeter with oak and blueberry. Well balanced and has great acidity and tannic structure and long finish. Good mix of new and old world flavors. I really enjoyed this wine, had with steak. Drinking well now or hold.

Very new world style. Too oaky for my liking, but some fruit does peak through. This wine needs some food if you are planning on opening soon, not an armchair sipper. Just not very interesting in my opinion.

Still delicious, well integrated and much more like a burgandy than a tempenillo. Finishes dry and a bit tart.
