Epic Champagne dinner (Taberna, Bukit Merah): Very good, if rather less impressive than a superlative 1988 Lafon Perrieres that it was served alongside. This smelt rather sweeter and more developed right off the bat, with aromas of caramel, butterscotch, honey and spice, along with wafts of sticky yellow fruit, reminding me somewhat of candied pineapples. After a nose like that, the palate almost surprised, with its licks of lovely clean acidity and minerality that set the stage before the more obvious flavours of sweet cream, caramel and creme brulee came in, alongside a nice bit of stone fruit. The finish had a tiny hint of mineral and spice along its decent length. A friendly, easygoing wine, even if everything felt rather creamier and less defined than the Perrieres. Good though, and showing a strength that belied its age.

A perfect cork a clean bottle. The color was dark like an orange marmalade tone. Usually it's a bad sign or Pmox but this wine doesn't posses a sugary sweetness. Nose smells of an old flat Dom perignon. There's a slight soy quality but still freshness from the minerality. On the palate it drys up quickly. Cleans up tight and lean. It leaves a long lingering toffee coffee tartness. It's sweet but in an umami way.

Started off with typical Meursault fat and buttery nose and palate. Good acidity. Continued to evolve in the glass to a unique mix of hay, nuts, citrus and a hint of cotton candy on the nose.

Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner with Musicians (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Small glass. Rich and mature apple and baked apple with candied almonds and a touch of honeycomb. Sneaky good length, with flavors persistent to that finish.

A bit advanced, toasty popcorn and nuts. Decant to calm down a bit. Still very good acid structure. Rich nose. 92

La Paulee Gala (New York, NY): Started with big fruit and nut hints, but fairly mature aromas and short on palate. Drink up.
