Sampled 2/17/12. Neck fill was pretty good - 2.5 centemeters from cork. Wow! Decanted for 2 hours and it needed it. Bordeaux funky nose was huge for about 90 minutes but finally mostly blew off. The color showed some reddish brown but no bricking and solid to the core. On the palate, silky smooth with wonderful black and red fruits layered with some sweet vanilla Oak. Extra 1 or 1.5 points for 39+ years aging ability.
wine was well above the shoulder. Came out of a still sealed case. Cork was brittle. Initally musky, but that blew off quickly. Incredibly delicious chocolate nose, smooth caramel taste with a terriffic finish. Simply amazing after all these years.
