Classic old Burg. Some funk at the open but not in a bad way. Still a rich wine. Great color with real depth. Drinking really well with good spice and red cherry flavors. Highly nuanced and complex. Very impressed.

Five Decades of Leroy (Charlie Bird): Highly elegant nose that features wilting roses and and sous bois with mild tobacco on top. Big spice emerges with more air. Ferns, blood, iron. Palate has sweet and delicate red berry fruit. Can imagine this being called old Barolo with that certain tertiary soil and spice. Still very pleasurable drinking.
