  • Where is the "Love It" button? "Like it" just won't do here. Served double-blind, a few of us were in Spain for the first few minutes as the savory, mature aromas along with the pretty recognizable American Oak influence made us think this way, at first. But, with a few minutes in the glass, and easily by the second glass, we decided Ridge, though it was undecided if it was 70s, 80s or 90s Petite, Cab or Zin, or maybe a blend. No one guessed 1981, And no one was way the hell out in Amador County, either, I can tell you that. But wow, just wow, the sheer genius of Paul Draper and the types of decisions that went into producing this wine -- all are/were top notch, best in class. Mature, but should hold here for several more years if in a cold cellar. A real treat and a great way to end the main part of our tasting. 13,9% abv., highly recommended

Loads of sediment, just as you'd expect.
