2018 base, composed of 80% Pinot noir, 20% Chardonnay. 50% reserve wines, disgorged July 2021. Lovely light pink color. First sip is a rush of ripe summer strawberries and light watermelon. Very nice finishing acid, a lovely texture as well. A really nice rose.

Opened, poured, and a bit tart and tight at first sip. After a while it mellows out slightly. Still not sweet and pretty much along the lines of my 7/16/2021 note. This was a fairly neutral setting, so nothing to distract or skew the taste. Maybe it is just what I am used to or prefer, but for my taste this could use just a bit more dosage. October, 2018 disgorgement.

Disgorged October, 2018: Nice bubbles, great mouthfeel. Not sweet; some red berry/pinot influence in taste. Good, but not consistent with most other notes. I probably should have this without food, but it was consumed with various appetizer-type foods (spicy, cheese, salty, etc) and I think they made it difficult to appreciate this wine. Definite miscalculation on my part. I have several more bottles, so next time will have on its own.

Charity wine dinner; Rosé, Champagne, old/new Barolo, Sauternes, Port (Samish Hill, Bellingham, WA): I sabered this one for entertainment. While it's tough to follow an '06 Taittinger Comtes BdB, this pinot-heavy rosé easily held its own. Graceful, charming, delicious. The next time I see this for a reasonable price, I'm buying six cases, and when I can't fit them in my cellar, I’ll get a pickax and shovel and bury them in my yard.
80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay; 50% reserve wines; bottled April 2017 (so 2016 base?), disgorged November 2019. Round but dry, fine mousse, pinoty. Not the most powerful or complex rose but tasty for sure.

Old Faithful. My cellar is never without this wine. Fresh and fragrant, balanced and beautiful. Always a great accompaniment to flavorful meals. October 2018 disgorgement.

NOSE: medium-light, airy, aromatics dominated by a light red berry/Pinot character.
BODY: medium bodied; pinkish-salmon color.
TASTE: not austere; dosage or natural sweetness is noticeable; red berry; Ashley found it to be a bit syrupy-tasting; very nice, but a bit bigger/sweeter than I (we) prefer. Not a re-buy for me.

In keeping in tune with my note of two years ago, a couple years aging did benefit this wine (though it appeared cloudy through the clear glass bottle). Full salmon color; soft and sweet nose of raspberry, a bit autolytic, very relaxed and pleasing. While lacking complexity, it’s a very nice warm weather treat.

This is my final bottle from the block I bought back in early 2019. Disgorged October 2018, is a mix of 80% Pinot and 20% Chard, with 50% reserve wine. The color on these is always bitchen, a rose/salmon hue. I opened this bottle yesterday, so it's had some air (overnight I kept it closed with a stopper so the CO2 has carried on just fine). This comes off a little heavier and glossy in tone when closer to room temp, but with a nice chill the wine picks up a better level of crispness. Pretty similar to the previous bottle I opened last year, with strawberry and cherry, maybe some juicy watermelon this time, too. The texture is generous, a fuller bodied feel. In terms of the acidity, there is some lime here but seems more evident to me in this bottle is the presence of orange. Overalll, I'd say this disgorgement is ready too drink, with moderate complexity and plenty of fruit and round edges.

Recently acquired more bottles of this and was surprised to receive some in clear and some in green glass bottles. The clear glass was 2017 disgorgement and was still drinking wonderfully. I love the sweet strawberry aromas on this as well as the lingering finish. Still a favorite.

An October 2016 disgorgement. Delightfully fresh, vibrant with citrus zest. Good body balanced with crisp acidity and energy. This will benefit and put on further depth and complexity over the next five years.

Complex nose of strawberries, vanilla and flowers. Big burst of fruit flavor in the mouth, which finishes welcomingly dry. For such a fruit-forward sparkler, this is very well balanced.

It has been many years since I have had this Rose. I realized we were out of our house favorite Paul Dethune NV Brut and went to order more, and then decided to go with the Rose on a whim. It is so delicious, as if someone added fresh strawberry flavor to my regular Paul Dethune. This is a really nice champagne and makes a normal day on lockdown feel like a party! Opened yesterday. As I have said on a # of past TNs, I have drank more of this particular wine than any other Champagne to date. I've got 20ish TNs spanning the past 5 years. Bottle after bottle it consistently provides high quality and pleasure--it's really a joy to drink. This bottle was disgorged October 2018, is a mix of 80% Pinot and 20% Chard, with 50% reserve wine. Dosage is not listed but I believe it's around 6-8 g/l typically. The color in this disgorgement is a salmon peach. It's flush with strawberry, cherry, lime, a touch of green apple, anise and a lick of chalk in the finish, along with a note of licorice. Consistently a smashing good wine and this one is right there too. For around 40 bucks, and farmed too with a purpose to protect the land and the people who farm it, there isn't much better in Rose than Dethune.
Man, I dig this Dethune Rose. I have bought so much of this wine, and the bottle we finished tonight was from the November 2015 disgorgement. This drinks with a good kick of acid, a blood orange kind of thing, supported by cherry and lime, with a dab of licorice. Good stuff and glad I have another 3 enroute as this was my last bottle on hand.

This drank very similar to the bottle from last September. Same disgorge date too. I enjoy the density and fruit expression in this, and although I tend to like my bubbly now more firm, this drinks more plump yet has good energy.

Bottled in 2009 with Jan 2013 disgorgement. Vibrant salmon pink tone. Very fine, food friendly. Slightly rounded but with enough acidity to give it the perfect tension and energy. A serious rose with length.

(disgorged November 2013) Very nice. 5 years have calmed down the acidity a bit leaving good balance on the palate. Still showing more primary citrus and a hint of red berry fruit. Last of 18 bottles....

Getting close to 20 bottles consumed of this stuff. This bottle disgorged 10/2017. This go round, plenty of tangy energy of blood orange, red apple and a bitter licorice note. It's about time to reload on what I continue to see as my favorite go-to QPR Rose bubblies. Love Dethune Rose.

Man, I love this stuff. This bottle, disgorged November 2015, drank with a real cut of acidity, alongside strawberry, raspberry and cherry. I finished the last glass as the wine had become mostly still it drinks with an energy that is really delicious. So good for $40 and down to my last bottle. Need to find another 6 more via Envoyer.

So many bottles of this over time I have enjoyed, and none of them had any composition details because the US back labels have the info coded at the very bottom. This bottle I know was a base of 2014, and like the Brut, is 9 g/l of dosage and slightly more PN versus Chard (80 and 20, respectively). Disgorged 11/2017. Salmon colored, with a broad palate and a very different texture to me than the Brut, as well. The Rose shows a fuller mouthfeel, and interestingly, the Brut has only 10% less PN and was disgorged virtually at the same month/year. Red fruits are really more prominent too in the Rose, showing dark cherry with a touch of lime. I just dig the texture on this bottling and yet there is enough of the Ambonnay chalk to support the finish. Such a great deal in GC rose.

Boneyard Fried Chicken and Bubbles with the Boys (Sherman Oaks): At dinner. Brief note. Fine perlage and a frothy mousse. Cherry, soft raspberry, strawberry, and orange blossoms. Racy acidity and a very liberal amount of fine, stoney mineralité. Fresh, medium finish is simple but still very enjoyable.

Fizzy alcoholic grape juice - and that's a complement. Beautiful color. Has fairly sharp acidity, but it's paired with such lush red fruit that it does not stick out.

Bottle 22 I have consumed to date. I've never drank 2 cases of anything, except maybe Mickey's Big Mouth on surfing trips in high school (!!). Disgorge date on this bottle is November 2015. This shows a darker salmon color, and drinks with a good dollop of saline, light red fruit and mineral. And, this is maybe the most saline/savory of all the bottles so far. It also has the orange peel note of the previous bottle, too. Good, leaner in tone and refreshing.

Fantastic, my first of many to come. A little austere at first (served too cold), mostly mineraled, until it warmed to a better serving temperature. Then, the floral smells and strawberry and raspberry flavors showed through.

Best showing of the lot I bought couple years ago yet (disgorged 2013). Best not served too cold around 10 degrees. Lovely strawberry notes, sublime. Fine bubbles. This bottle had been kept in my flat for 3 years in sub-optimal conditions due to lack of Eurocave space. It nevertheless has evolved well and shows better then when younger. I think if you store these correctly you can cellar them for 5 years plus and you will be rewarded with a more integrated, finer and deeper fruit. Impressive stuff and sad that I only have 1 bottle left.

Previous notes hold. Really sublime rose champagne. My bottles were bought 3 years ago from the Maison directly and I have not kept them perfectly since (lack of space in Eurocave). This is now drinking with less exuberance but more complexity and serenity then at the beginning, but has developed really very nice indeed.

Such, power. Such intensity. A dark, robust rose. Much different from the billecart salmon rose that we had alongside. From a bottle that was purchased in 2013.
Disgorgement date unknown. Deep pink, quite frothy. Medium body, moderate dosage most apparent upfront with drier black fruit and minerality to finish. I liked it although it was quite different from the more exuberantly fruity version I tried several years ago.

Recently bought another 8 bottles of this stuff. Man, I can drink this every day. The apple and strawberry notes, combined with a zesty and slight bitter finish, that is clean and refreshing. Easy to buy and even easier to drink.
I kick myself for not buying another case of this when I had the chance. For 35-40 bucks US, this bubbly fits my palate so well. It's zesty, lean and yet there is the red fruit of strawberry that freshens it, with the total package being just a great glass of bubbly. I have enjoyed more than a case of this stuff throughout the past couple years and with 2 left, time to ask Envoyer to get more. This time, I will buy a case!

Sort of said everything on the last tasting note a few months ago so I won't try and get creative resulting in the same sentiment but I will add that I look forward to opening this bottle every time. Good summer grilling juice.
Beautiful wine with vibrant cherry and cranberry fruit, backed by nice acids that hold an incredibly lengthy finish. Good value for such a nice Brut Rosé!
Big Basin Tasting with Bradley (FMIII in the OC): I've had this before but I guess I didn't write a tasting note which is odd. I'm a rosé hound. Hot pink color, just screams summer. Smells like a fresh croissant and red currant fruit. Great mouthfeel and well balanced. Flavor is driven by sour cherry with a big hit of acid at the finish. Excellent.

Opened last night, tried to preserve the bubbles but I have to note here that restasting today, it's lost a lot of the great mousse from last night. What's here now is really a little spritz, followed by the fruit and acidity. Strawberry, apple and raspberry, really much about red fruit, which tastes great here. Abesent most of the mousse, the acidity is what adds the remaining verve, showing a green and red apple skin freshness. I really dig this Dethune, and it's of course a complete bubbly when first opened. Need to source some more and keep around, as it's quite good, especially for $40.

First bottle of several purchased through Envoyer. Initially, I thought this might be an off bottle as the nose and taste seemed odd. After a few minutes in the flute, however, things seemed to get better in a grand way. Perhaps the strawberry/cherry profile was a little sweet for my tastes, but certainly a well made rose champagne at a very comfortable price-point.

Opened and had rigatoni with Italian sausage and tomato sauce. Aroma with the first whiff was red apples. Eventually it led to a pretty fragrant strawberry aroma. This has a great feel on the palate, as it really coats the tongue with a nice creaminess. Has that strawberry taste with a nice dose of acidity. Very enjoyable.

Like a perfectly ripe apple, this has sweet, vibrant fruits strong-armed into correctitude by a dry, stony finish. Wonderful tuna-pink colour, beautiful depth of cherry and apple flavours, superb structure and confidence. Not a bargain but certainly a top class wine and a real pleasure to drink. Sorry to disagree specifically with other users comments, but this has far more focus, style and complexity than L-P rose, which IMHO would be not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under Dethune's table, so to speak.

Wine Dinner @ fasteddie35's Home (Lake Forest, IL): Very yeasty and bread dough notes along with strawberries and red apples. I agree with some of the other notes here that this seems to come across as one dimensional, but with additional air exposure in the glass this wine got better and more aromatic. This may need a year or two in the bottle to really come around.

I'd agree generally with Gcashman and drwine below - lovely, light (no richness), and simple (zero complexity). "90 is still outstanding!" Very enjoyable. I'm a huge fan of LP Rose - on its own merits and particularly for the money - this isn't as good as that, but I am glad to have finally tried Dethune for the first time.

Goodbye 2008 ("Chez P&G", San Francisco): Bright rose color. Exuberant red fruit and a touch of yeast on the nose. Gorgeous bright fruit in the mouth, and it strikes a great balance between crisp and creamy. Moderate dosage made it perfect for after the meal rather than with food. I just love this wine, but it may be too sweet and fruity for those seeking a more austere, classic style of Champagne.

Syrahs of the World and More; 6/24/2008-6/26/2008 (Various Dining Locales, San Francisco): Beautiful pink. Extremely primary, this was like walking into a fermentation vat. Strawberry, yeast, and black Pinot fruit. Dry and impressive with an excellent combination of concentration, flavor intensity, and light frothiness.

Good stuff and glad I have another 3 enroute as this was my last bottle on hand.

Sorry to disagree specifically with other users comments, but this has far more focus, style and complexity than L-P rose, which IMHO would be not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under Dethune's table, so to speak.

I don't know the disgorgement date, but this had deeper black cherry fruit, less sweetness, and more minerality than past bottles.

Consistent with prior tastings-open, friendly, moderately sweet with outstanding strawberry coulis flavors. A happy, easy wine as long as you are not in the mood for a lean, austere bottle of Champagne.

First time I've heard of or tasted this house, but based on this bottle, it seems like one to seek out in the future.
