Bright gold color. Faintly petroleum jelly nose, honeyed peaches on the palate, modest sweetness and acidity. Of passing interest. I don't even know how this got in my cellar.

Consistent with earlier bottles. Incredibly complex and layered with mature smoky, honeyed, burnished and lemon cream elements framing more youthful Mosel fruit and mineral flavours. It's still incredibly vibrant and fresh with powerful acidity balancing the moderate sweetness perfectly, and more complexity and aromatic depth emerging with more air. Fantastic.

Just like the last bottle I had. Incredibly complex, fragrant, precise, and drinking superbly right now with the fruit still fresh and vibrant, and augmented by layers of mature, savoury flavours. Tremendous.

Just stunning. Residual sugar completely offset by bracing acidity. Chiseled and mineral, with bottomless depths of fruit -- pear, apricot, mountain honeys. A glowing, lingering finish that whispers "unforgettable" in a voice like Nat Cole's. Or Natalie's.

I've heard less-than-stellar things about this side of the Thanisch estate after it split, but this is just spectacular. It still looks rather youthful with a surprisingly pale colour for its age, and it's drinking superbly right now. The fruit's still very fresh and vibrant, framed by a spectrum of higher toned herbal and floral elements, and more savoury, low toned earthy and smoky notes. There's a sense of incredible polish and harmony on the palate right now with bracing acidity beneath and remarkable length, and the sense of freshness and structure gives the impression this still has plenty of time ahead of it, with more aromatic nuances keeping on unfolding with air. Just a stellar Auslese.

Absolutely beautiful, ponderous, and ever-changing with air.

Medium straw color; bouquet features honey, meal and floral; rich flavors - ripe orange; minerality shines; wonderful fresh acidity; quite lively; finish is very long - balanced- acidity continues to refresh. Really liked this wine.
