Certainly shows its age in its color, which is dark gold. Plenty of small bubbles, that persisted. Has the smell of and older sparkling wine. Aromas of yeast, green apple, pear, caramel and nuts. On the palate, shows similar with green apple , baked pear, baked bread and nuts. Great balance . Medium length finish. A really interesting sparkling wine in a good place. Not sure it will improve with more time, but not over the hill.

Little past its peak. Still very tasty, but light with a short finish. Tiny bubbles disappeared pretty quickly. Apple & pear pie flavors. Darker color.

The development of this blend of 95% chardonnay and 5% pinot blanc certainly shows in its color, which is darker and much more golden than a young blanc de blancs. It was quite frothy when poured, and continued to bubble quite well over the course of an hour. Smells of fresh crusty baguette, candied pear, and a hint of caramel. The palate starts with ripe green apple and baked fruit (pear?), leading into a soft, creamy mid-palate. The citrusy finish is very crisp and tight, so I imagine this wine still has plenty of aging potential. Served at about 7°C (45°F). An outstanding wine, and a very good match for Comté cheese.

We drank this at my 1999 New Years Eve Party. Very good.
Per schramsberg.com: Toasty lemon-lime and tropical aromas, hints of vanilla spice. Zesty citrus and baked pineapple flavours lead to a long, seamless finish. Crisp, refreshing, showcasing sparkling Chardonnay at its best. Was their first wine produced in 1965, America's first commercially produced Chardonnay-based sparkling wine.

Very elegant wine, but extremely aged. Need to prefer more mature sparkling to fully appreciate this one.

Good wine, although not prototypical blanc de blanc. Tasting with Selosse Initial and wasn't overshadowed.
