Riesling SWAG (Restaurant Vlet, Hometown, Hamburg): As I am not really a fan of Austrian Riesling this bottle is really convincing, a lot of finesse and elegance on the palate, really deep stonefruit and lots of minerals, ending long, ***-****, 90- 92+?

Riesling SWAG 2018 (Restaurant Vlet, Hamburg, Germany): Very deep and intense nose with aromas of ripe peach (I think there was a bit of botrytis at play although not much), wild flowers, citrus zest and a lot of spices. Also on the palate very intense, full bodied but not much fruit (a bit of grapefruit and citrus) and an incredible sea salt finish which I absolutely adore. On the flipside it has a bit too much heat in the back-end imo. The quality is not arguable rather the style.

Riesling SWAG 2018 (Restaurant Vlet, Hamburg / Speicherstadt): Clean, medium golden yellow. Intense, developing nose, compact, deep with lots of spices and mineral notes. Dry, good, lively acidity. 13,5% abv alc. Incredibly salty (salted lemons), herbs, few fruit, no or very few botrytis. Great texture and balance. Potential for at least 5+ years of development. 93+

(Mostly) Northern Rhone Night (The Bristol - Chicago, IL): This just screams Wachau! Beautiful combination of lychee, and peach notes on the nose. The palate was in a great spot with dense fruits and great acidity. Thought this was beautiful.

A night of (mostly) Northern Rhones (The Bristol, Chicago IL): Nose: Very balanced and aromatic nose with layered tones of sea shells, lemon zest, crushed rocks, white florals, and a whole lot of pears. There is very good depth to this as well along with a refined sense too.
Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium+ acidity. The acidity is still noticeable with along with layered and deep tones of sea shells, peaches, crushed rocks, white florals, and lots of pears.
Overall: This was a wonderful and mature F.X. Pichler. There was a lot of poise and class on this and it seemed like it still has a way to go.

Austrian and Spanish Wines on the Fino patio (Fino Restaurant, Austin, Texas): With some classic Riesling "petrol," gun flint, chalk, and a bit of botrytis on the nose, this was not sweet yet had good fruit and flower flavors. It was clean and crisp, with medium-plus acidity, good balance, and some delicacy. Tasters found flavors of honeysuckle, jasmine, night-blooming flowers, pineapple, some green apple and apple skin, lemon peel, and orange oil. Quite refined and drinking well.

$40 retail, after discount. Expressive nose of citrus, green apple, minerals and petrol. Bone dry, with acidity that just lights up your mouth. Well balanced. Lemon and minerals on the palate. Quite impressive.

Tasted at home. A very beautiful Riesling with depth and character. Aromatics hint at botrytis and are very giving (mineral, peach etc.)
Just singing!

Impressive. Quite dry, with firm but balanced acidity and penetrating aromas of minerals and petrol. I liked this wine quite a bit.
