This was never a great wine but in its youth the wine was enjoyable despite the lack of acidity. Now it is an over oxidized mess. Probably not meant to be aged like this but it was one of those bottles that got lost in the cellar.

Deep golden color. Fatty and waxy in texture. Finishes med +, plush and soft. Nutty, honey, almonds, Chamomile tea, violets, slightly oxidative. This is killer, absolutely beautiful!

Brilliant gold color in the glass. Great nose of honey and tea with a hint of vanilla. Medium body, low viscosity. Medium long finish. Really a wonderful expression of Roussanne, the color is absolutely fantastic and the wine is singing right now.

Floral nose surrounded by an herbaceous perimeter. Palate of pear and green apple. Plenty of acidity. I was concerned about holding this bottle too long. For those who still have some, it drinks fine and will continue to do so for 1-2 more years.

Last of case. Most recent bottles have gone flabby but this one was on point. I got a fresh ocean breeze and baby talc on the nose with a richness on the palate. Deliscious but about 92 and you can see the fall in my scores over time. Drnk em if you got em

W trout from bbq. I really like this wine but the vibrancy is gone, so drink now. Needed some time to open up but developed very well. Pear, and apricot type flavors. Good finish, very nice color, but as said freshness is leaving so get to it now. Last bottel.

Enjoyed at Charlie Palmers, two yearsafter my last note. It is more balanced and elegant, slightly less intense but still marvelous! Best white I have drunk this year.

Has taken on a bit thicker/waxy texture. Fruit and acid are nicely balanced, but the fruit is not quite as bright and floral as 2 years ago. Still crisp, stoney and very nice.

Darker golden color. Tropical fruit nose, peach, limestone minerality, with some sort of cinnamon or nutmet on the finish. With that said, don't think this will improve much with time, so drink up!

Impromptu Copains at Fratello's (Fratello's San Clemente): Nose shows pineapple and tropical candies, also a touch of caramel. Richer on the palate and rounder fruited than I remember these wines typically being. Have liked other vintages of this much better.

Bright golden color. Tropical fruit nose with some honeycomb notes. Tastes of apple, pear, walnut and peach with a nice limestone minerality. Very well balanced with refreshing acidity. Well integrated vanilla oak backbone. Complex mid palate with very good depth of fruit. Medium bodied with nice texture. Long elegant finish. Old world style. If tasted blind I would have guessed Chateauneuf du Pape. I've always been pleased with the Copain whites from James Berry. 13.8% alcohol.

Very nice peach, honey, and floral notes in the aromas with honey-nut flavors framing a tropical core of banana, mango, and lychee. I agree that there is a bit of coarseness to the wine but overall it was a lovely, complex rendition of the grape with a lingering finish that improved as it warmed in the glass.

No formal notes, but I didn't detect much change from last year: this is outstanding Roussanne, rich and nutty with a foundation of pears, melons, some waxy vanilla, and thyme, wrapped in a wonderful layered texture.

very nice floral and peach nose; great texture; clean white peach and mineral, with some crisp acidity; real stuffing and easily stands up to a hearty seafood risotto

Really nice. Golden yellow. White fruit, citrus, minerals and flowers. Light acidity. This has an appealing brightness along with pretty substantial fruit.

at Charlie Palmers served at 55 degreees, honey golden hue, sweet beguiling aromatics and rich nutty full palate with good backbone of acidity. I kept savoring it and it got better through the evening. This tottally beats most French versions.

Showing rather rich. Enjoyable aromatics. Nutty and creamy with wet stones just peeking through. Mid/heavy palate. Drinking well. Not sure it has the acidity to improve ... but maybe it will shed some baby fat and become more interesting. Nice wine.

Lovely apples, citrus, crispness, lots of depth, oaky/earthy lingering, very clean and lots of "Wow!" As one who rarely drinks whites, this wine could make me ask for a second glass/bottle.

The nose has nice floral and herbal notes (omg try this with a dish that has some thyme) as well as stone fruits that emerge with air and warmth; the palate features melons, almond skin, cedar, lemon-lime, stones, and Asian pears in a rich, mouthcoating package with moderate acidity and a bit of tannic length, too. The finish emphasizes the more earthy tones but it does persist in limited form. Perhaps this could stand to be a bit more fleshy and sweet-fruity -- blending with a dollop of Viognier would make sense -- but all in all this is a pretty complex and utterly delicious wine that blows the doors off the merely good Tablas Creek Roussannes I've had recently. I was wary of having to buy a 3 pack but now I'm glad to have more! Not sure how this will evolve given the propensity of this varietal to shut down, but this is drinking great now.

Not as robust as a sav blanc. Muted finish but very clean.Meaning no overt oakiness and certainly not sweet. Very dry. First time I ever had ths varietal. Liked it enough to have it again.
