Red berries, very clearly pinot, some leather and horse sweat, licorice, thai noodle dish, chillies, a tad too much alcohol in the palate but all in all very nice and interesting

still going strong, although the acids are just about to take over the fruit. That said, I was quite surprised to find this to be so elegant as my experience with Shea pinots have been dark fruited and voluptuous. this is elegant, transparent and delicious.

Dark and not giving on the first day.. Second day gives to dark fruit with a solid tannic backbone, will cellar the rest for a couple of more yrs. I find that KW wines need a lot of time open to show well.

faint violet and blueberry to start then it turned a bit brambly balckberry on the nose. Soft up front with medium tannin and red berry fruit with a hint of cola in the middle. There was a ten to fifteen second finish but it had a bitter metallic edge i have noticed in other Oregon Pinots. Not bad but I doubt it will improve...

continuing with my general affinity for this producer and vintage, the shea displays my favorite flavor, black cherry, so i am immediately smitten. i have to believe that the low alcohol has a large effect on the excellent balance, and the rich mouthfeel is all fruit without even a touch of heat or the overt earthiness which can spoil any pinot for me. i am particularly enjoying the layers of complexity in the finish. quite fetching.

This is truly in the league of the great Burgundian Pinots.

I like that this wine was subtle and well balanced. This is a good thing in a Pinot. But it was a tad too subtle. Flat nose, thin on the palate.

Wow!! Terrific wine, lots of red/black cherry and raspberry in the bouquet and palate. Phenomenal, drinking perfectly right now.
