Surprisingly at 7 years age was very similar to how it tasted on release, with a little finesse from age. Majority of tasters very pleased, with one carping on it's high alcohol and extract. What do you expect? Bodes well for the stability of it's ageability.

Very ripe wine that led with menthol, alcohol tinged black cherry and smoke. These eventually settled down a bit but the wine still was heavy, albeit not without pleasure and its admirers.

Fat nose of asphalt, blackberry, charcoal and mocha. Thick and creamy in the mouth with black pepper dominating the finish. There is just a little heat showing. A competent wine but too close to an Auzzie Shiraz for my palate.

Very intense wine. Many would say it is what is best about Paso wines, and others would say it is what's worst. The varietal characteristics overwhelm everything else. It may be that it needs many additional years in the bottle. Even the second night little is descernible except SYRAH. The term crude oil keeps coming to mind.

OMFG! This wine is a huge monster! High alcohol, for sure, but not so much that it distracted from the qualities of the wine. It bothered me more than I had expected, but I suppose that is not unexpected under the circumstances. Almost port like in its thickness, or should I say ooziness. Black, inky in color. Licorice? It was like sipping berries and cherries through a black licorice stick. This is an amazing wine. I like it, and it easily held its own with the enchiladas and ancho sweet potatoes.
