Brought by Jared to dinner at Chez Mike with Maria P. Pop and pour. Medicinal nose of red fruit. Smokey red fruit on the palate. Medium length. Lovely.

Tight on the first night. Better and more open on the second.
The overall impression is taught and focused wine with rocky minerality and deep, ripe (almost roasted) fruit showing as dried cherries. Paired great with grilled skirt steak but lacked the plushness to make we want to drink it without food.
Big wine that's balanced to age for at least five more years.

takes a while to open up, maybe a bit past its prime. Bigger than any of the Ken Wrights from this vintage...but a bit too jammy. Overall a nice new world pinot.

On the nose juicy dark cherry, dried pine needles, cola and pipe tobacco. On the palate, the tannins in previous notes have been mellowed out and the balance between tannins and acid is perfect. Finish is medium long and all fruit.

Day one, fun to drink. A nice nose, dark color. This is a big tannic pinot with a lot of fruit. At this age, it manages to stay dry with enough acid to try and keep it in balance. Cherries, oak, cola and wet rocks. Finish is pretty good. Day 2, the minerality is very pronounced. In fact, that's all I can focus on, delicious wet rocks. A small amount of funk has also been added. I planned to keep this for day 3 but sorry I drank it all, it was in too good of a place on day 2 to save.

sweet kirsch, raspberries and cherries on the nose. The palate reveals a touch of smoke and tar. The tannins are very ripe and up front. It's very hefty for pinot.

Balanced tannins. Big flavors of earth, smoke, dark cherries. Still some heat on the palate, and tannins are softening. Goes really well with food. (Doris 89)

Notes from day 2. Dark purple in color. Big pinot. Nose of black cherry, currant, with a little forest soil going on. Palate of black cherry, little black plum, loam soil, pine, minerality, asian spice, smoke. The finish is above average in length. Would of loved this a couple of years ago, but not necessarily what I look for in pinot. Good wine though, just would call it grenache if I didn't know better. Drink or hold. 50+5+11+17+7

Big nose of cherries, blackcurrants and minerals. On the palate, forward flavors of black currant and minerals, with sweet cherries and forest following behind. Some heat on the palate. This is a big wine with the terroir subduing the fruit a bit. Short finish. Drank alongside 06 St. Innocent Anden and was voted #2 by all. (Elena, Ray, Teri, Rick)

This was delicious. Really fruit forward in the best of ways. Sometimes pinots can have a sweetness to them that throws them off. Not this. Very nice fruit profile, just about the way I prefer. Would buy again in a blink as I feel the price justifies the quality for this Oregon pinot. 5 more years of aging tops for me.

Had at Catalan during dinner, very nice wine, cherries, spice and almost a pine forest like flavor. Went very well with food. Will look for this at the wine store. Very nice long lasting finish.

Drank on Thanksgiving with Turkey dinner and all the trimmings. Excellent ruby color, nose of pine trees and forest floor. Great cherry fruit and spice. Nice pinot!

It was described by one drinker as FEISTY! Perfectly smooth and hints of spice, cherry and cola that married perfectly together. A wine that went on and on. What surprised me is that if very much reminded me of a Santa Barbara county pinot. Not a bad thing it at all. Bring me more, please.

Popped and poured. Definitely needs 30-60 minutes decant and then prior notes kick in.
