This was a nice surprise, after several bad bottles of Baumard wines from the 00, 01, 02 and 03 vintages. At last a bright, clean colour. The nose is quite clean too, waxy notes of quince and honey. In the mouth, the first sip is crisp, with slightly bitter lemon flavours and honey, before a refreshingly precise middle section and a fairly long finish, where the usual butterscotch and dried gooseberry flavours emerge. Not an outstanding Clos de St.Yves by any means, 03 oblige, it does taste a little flat and muted, but very enjoyable nonetheless.

light golden color; wet straw aroma; taste of green premature melon and wet straw; dry; smooth; wonderful with fish on the grill or in oven.
