Jims Large Format Dinner Marie Jean bottle: i could not get through the age and tartness of this wine and never have known it was a Pichon, just old. NR
Georges Notes:A rather odd nose and one that seems off, overwhelming aromas of mint and menthol, a touch earthen but also perfumed, but lacks distinct elements, the aromas are a bit obscure and green with only a hint of the sweetness that one expects from this property; better in the mouth, opening with a nice layer of sweet black fruits, but there is a problem with this bottle; the flavors are obscured with the same menthol elements that were in the nose, which gives the wine a rather medicinal character; there is nicely presented dry red fruit in the mid-mouth, but it is quite dry and short; a chalky earthen finish; if typical, this wine is definitely past its best now. Powerfull nose of leather, meaty, ripe black cherries, hint of licorice... in the mouth, red berries, integrated tannins, good acidity, typical ripe green pepperonis, feminine and delicate wine

(Deleuran bottling) Dead. Oxidized. A flawed bottle.
