Moderate honey gold color, typical of this wine with some years on it; getting the characteristic gewurz nose, bit on the lighter side, then really lovely on the palate, with flavorful, lightly gewurz spiced fruit, touch of savory minerality. A slightly tamer version of this wine, not quite the depth and explosiveness of the 2001 or 2005, a touch less acidity, it still nicely balanced, and still quite youthful. Based on where this wine is now, it could easily age another decade and more, and still be in its prime.

Floral and sweetish aromas with lychee and citrus. Guessed it was a Pinot Gris. Surprisingly sweet and full bodied for a Trimbach. Would have expected more acidity and firmness in a 2004, but nice wine.

Oh my! A 2004 white that can go the distance. Been in my cellar since 2011. 16 year old white. If this is what is typical of this region, I have to get more. Expensive, but I would have to say worth it. The body, flavor and aroma just go on..... Had with a pork roast stuffed with apple and onions. What a treat!

Light gold to bronze rim, Gentle but focussed aromas of rose petals, litchi, ginger and sweet spices. Sweet on entry with a soft, rich underbelly, fleshy on the mid-palate and just enough acidity to give the wine a lovely gait. Concentrated with a broad palate shape, it feels slightly off-dry and tapers to a long finish. More sweet spice on the mid-palate along with Turkish delight, pressed red flowers and some almond paste. It finishes with a dry marzipan note.

Medium hay in color, cork was saturated half way up, but otherwise in good shape; this has a light Gewurz nose, but good medium intensity on the palate, mild gewurz spice, excellent acidity for a gewurz, some nice steely minerality through the medium finish. Very nice, not quite the depth and fireworks of the 2001 version, still quite youthful, well stored bottles should easily go another decade.

This bottle was quite interesting. The cork was soaked through which made me worry about it. It tasted fine, but not that interesting, by itself. When we brought out the butternut squash soup, it seemed to be almost a different wine. The nose was pretty reticent but on the palate there were lots of flavors of acacia wood, dried fruit, and white pepper. Quite dry. Medium length finish.

Opened with Chef's foie gras, this made for a nice match on texture and sweetness. Notes of lychee and spice, with ripe melon and white fruit aromas. Rich texture with flavors of pear, stone fruit and a hint of petrol that I didn't recall from previous examples. Drinking well now and should hold for a while, though I see no reason to wait.

Notes of gooseberry and spice follow through on the palate. Very fruit forward therefore perceived as being "sweet." Rich texture with a long finish. I thought this paired very well with the salad- rich enough to cut through the vinaigrette, with enough fruit for the blue and matching on the sweet grilled pear. 92+ pts.

I drank this over several days, and it got better each day. grapefruit, lychee, grapeseed oil, apricot. I'd say it started an 89 - with an odd stewed apricot flavor, that dissapated a little each day.

Yellow. Pineapple and spice. Sweeter impression than past bottles, nice combination of more tropical fruit and white grapefruit, slight florality. Once again, very enjoyable (this time with Vietnamese crab) but it is definitely starting to thin out, so if you are holding it, probably best consumed over the short term.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (R&C's): Opened nonblind with the ham dinner following the tasting. Gooseberry, lychee, spice and poached pear aromas. Richly textured with good weight across the palate. Stone fruit, lychee and spice flavors with balancing acidity. Has a fruity sweetness to it that made for a wonderful pairing with the ham. Lingers on the finish. Terrific stuff.

The best part about this wine is the nose, wafting beautiful aromas of ripe tropical fruit and jasmine blossom. On the palate this Trimbach is full bodied and satiating showing very little age but also doesn't provide any evidence that it will benefit from another day in the bottle unless you like oxidized whites. Good stuff.

Enchantingly complex aromatics of fresh flowers, pollen, white peach, tangy lemon-lime, and creme freche, with a mouthwatering palate bursting with rich fresh peaches, lychee, wildflower honey, lemon meringue and an echo of poached pears in syrup. Amazing wine to enjoy now and for years to come. Served with roasted spice-rubbed pork loin and mushrooms.

I'll start by saying I have a sweet spot for Alsatian gewurz. I love the perfume, the body, the spice, everything. Here we have a perfectly aged Trimbach with a light honey color, a nose to die for and is in itself worth the price of admission, which was $42 with shipping and tax by the way. On the nose I get candle wax, brown sugar, musk, pineapple, and baked apples. The mouthfeel is a bit fleeting here with an entry that feels promising but fades quickly leaving a beautiful oiliness on the lips, or perhaps it's a concoction of sugar and spice. Just a hint off dry and in no way cloying. This is such a sexy, maybe even slutty wine. The acid is low so I say drink by October 2013.

Still light yellow. Grapefruit zest and ginger scents. Light to medium bodied. Just off dry, expressive grapefruit and papaya, explosive acidity and some quinine on the finish. I am so happy to have found a few bottles of this in the U.S. after trying it at the domain this spring. Good enough to make me regret that I hardly ever drink Gewurztraminer anymore.

Incredible nose of spicy white peach, lychee, and fresh flowers - this is an '04?? Wow!
