1992 Bordeaux is supposed to be a disaster, but no one mentioned that to Lynch Bages. On pop and pour, this was a delightfully proper Pauillac. Tobacco, red cherry and chalky minerals. This was terrific from the first pour. Eventually, after 3 hours, it did crack up on the finish and demonstrate the vintage challenges. However, it was stunningly pleasurable for hours. Great showing!
- Ruby color with medium forming legs and aromas of cherry - The fruit is definitely fading on this one. Drank it as part of a vertical of Lynch Bages 92, 93, 94 and 95. The 93 and 95 very showing the best.
Wow what a surprise !°°°! half an Hour after opening: this wine comes along like MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 1987 !°
and the next day much mor e in it´s ripeness and simple but elegant complexity ! Showing "sous bois" like the ground of a dark wood with herbal essences, truffels, moshus.... but also soft sweetness ! I am overwhelmed by this Creation this turns out now like a real SUPRISE !

GREAT STUFF , althought this year is know to be not this like I experinced it ;-) please gimm me MORE !°
Classical on nose, when opened, pretty sure it was over the hill. But after some time in the glass: tobacco, cedar, leather, and little fruit left, besides some blackcurrant. Should been drunk 2 years ago, but still an old lovely bordeaux!
A friend had this stored when I told him it was probably well past its prime. When we opened, there was no aroma. We let it sit in the bottle and the glass for 30 minutes. It actually developed a subtle nose with hints of tobacco and currant. We let it sit for another 15 minutes and drank with a steak dinner (we had another bottle ready to go in case this was what we expected). While definitely past its prime, it was still very drinkable. A nice surprise!
A nice, typical Lynch Bages perhaps lacking the depth of greater vintages. Burnt sunburst color at the rim, deepening towards the center. A subdued nose with hints of tobacco and cedar with currant at the core. Supple and lush in the mouth with a medium finish.
Soft and full bouquet with light cedar and tobacco. Very ripe black currants and blackberry sweetness which lingers on in the aftertaste. Soft tannin. The wine is completely mature and offers a lot of pleasure drinking it. Do not store too long!!!
