(Spelled Beaumonts, chez Drouhin) This is in a fabulous window of drinkability and shows the delicate Asian spice quality of Vosne with attractive baking spice dustings mixed with the early makings of sous bois-inflected notes and delicate spicy red fruits. YES. Incense, soy sauce, wood smoke/campfire, antique furniture and whiff of black truffle. Classic, classy Vosne with fully integrated tannin even today and should hold quite a bit yet.

The Semicentennial Birthday "Season"; 9/16/2012-9/18/2012 (San Francisco and the Napa Valley): This well-cellared bottle reveals a deep garnet wine with a nice bouquet of raspberry, cola, leather and coriander. It is medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, melted tannins and well-integrated alcohol. There is plenty of raspberry-dominated red fruit left on this bottle, with other complex flavors which mirror the nose. The middle palate is solid and the finish is quite long and smooth. With older Burgundies such as this, there are no good wines, only good bottles...this was a good bottle. Assuming that you have a comparably-cellared, non-flawed bottle, enjoy it over the next 5 years or so. Drink now-12/17.
