Roulot's 2004 Tessons Clos de Mon Plaisir sports a pretty bouquet of pear, honey, hazelnut, and iodine, still fairly fresh but not showing much complexity of age. Rich orchard fruit and honey on the palate with just enough cut to keep things balanced. Drink up.

Lovely complex nose of clove and hazelnut with fresh acids. Quite elegant on the palate which shows a lot of maturity with flavors of hazelnuts and lemon oil. There is good acidity and the finish is ripe with good intensity and some complex notes of clove and butterscotch. Very good but not my favorite of his delicious '04's.

in a perfect place. balanced and waxy with vibrant lemon and apple with this dense concentration of fruit that just sinks into the palate. Just the right amount of acidity to give it lift as it's showing the softness of it's 8 year age but still enough vibrancy to know it's going to go awhile.

Nutty, mineral notes with touch of oak on the nose. Lovely palate with great balance...quite fresh and medium length. Not as lush as the '00 Raveneau Butteaux served alongside.

The best lightly corked wine I've had in a long time. If this wine wasn't so pure and transparent I doubt you'd see the faint hessian character that slightly taints the wine. It is lemon and mineral central with good rocky detail, a hint od butter and electric acidity.

Initially a bit of reduction on the nose, which dissipated with air. Nice citrus and mineral notes. Pure, medium body..quite fresh with lingering finish. Quite a contrast in style to the Bouchard Genevieres served alongside.

on a leaf day; four hours bottle breath; charming and complex bouquet with citrus, subtle creamy, nuts, toasts and mineral; matching palate with acidity and spicy at finish

allow 1 hour bottle breath; lovely and balanced bouquet with citrus, slight peach, mineral and butter cream; the body is not as heavy as a Lafon CDLB or Charmes; the palate is not as pleasant the aroma; there is quite strong oak influence and a little over in spice; anyway it's an exceptional effort

This is why I love white Burgundy. Very light color with a serious palate. The nose was spring water, gunflint, honey, and citrus. The palate mirrored what was on the nose, but with more depth. The finish was long.

There’s a little toasty development but the nose is indeed pure, fresh and fine. There is a suggestion of spearmint as well as dried flowers and citrus fruits. It is by no means fat but there’s a touch of butter and some glycerol sheathes the citric frame. A delicious wine that has some cooler, green notes but I like it very much.

The nose displayed burnt almonds, butter, and minerals. Some nuttiness on the palate with gunflint and orange oil. I felt the wine showed a heavy weight that would not have been as noticeable except for the fact that it was drunk alongside a much lighter and younger Raveneau Montee de Tonnerre from 2007. It was an excellent wine to go with hand rolled pasta with a rabbit ragu.

licht geel van kleur, mooie minerale neus, citrus, gele appel, alles zeer beschaafd en zuiver, smaak is concentratie en balans, mooie verweven frisheid, heel schoon en rijk

What this wine conveys best is a sense of dimension. Instantly on the first sip, before you even begin to perceive any flavor, the wine inscribes a cube on your palate and then begins gradually filling it in with pale, mild fruit as pure and soft as streamwater but with a brothy savor. A touch of nuts adds some depth but for the most part this is all about the bones, a soaring space that could make a great wine if age adds the right furnishings.

PnP. Nice nose with honey, pear and white flower. The palate is strong, with rice cracker, sugar cane and showed some complexity. Still young,

During a La Paulee dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. Fresh, mineralic, nice for the price indeed.

La Paulée de San Francisco - Gala Dinner (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Small taste, brief note. Starts slightly ripe and nutty, but then takes off with a burst of energy and precision toward a long finish. Still nicely fresh. At a great place right now.

Saturday with Some Charmers: Salon, Roulot, PYCM, Giacosa Riservas: Quite refreshing after the heavier charmes flight. Sulfer and wood have integrated leaving citrus, very clean fruit, wonderful minerality and focus. Wonderful.

Considerable acid, oak that isn't quite integrated, and lemon dominated fruit. Good, but perhaps not as integratedor balanced as I'd like.
