Medium-light gold in color and exactly where it should be in terms of development. There's a good spine of lemony acidity, creamy mid-palate richness, and a little oxidative nuttiness on the finish. Delicious and capable of further development if this bottle is representative...wish I had another bottle or two to try in the future.

Darker in color than i would have anticipated. Still solid fruit and acidity but not getting any better. White peach tones now moved over a bit toward buttery and deeper in texture. Perfectly enjoyable but time to bring the last bottle or two

Domaine de Montille Vosne Romanée Malconsorts Lunch at La Paulée (1760 Restaurant, San Francisco): Magnum. Light to medium yellow. Deeply pitched, tropical fruit compared to the '07-pineapple and some citrus. Most fruity and weighty of all 3 Pulignys with richness, lovely glycerine texture, vivid orange peel, and some soil. Background oak which you feel but don't taste. Moderate acidity that is lower than the other 2 vintages. Some increasing floral tones late. A bright, cheery wine that is fresh and showing beautifully at around peak of maturity, but less fine than the other higher acidity vintages.

Paul's Bday at Custom House: Lovely golden yellow, nice sweet lemon citrus aromas, bit hi toned. Nice minerality and sour lime flavors, good round feel, falls off a bit quickly. In a good place, nice wine, not amazing.

From magnum. Pale medium yellow. Very elegant combination of floral, mineral, herbal and deep, sweet fruit elements. Compelling from first whiff to the long, chalk-inflected finish; I kept coming back to this "wine of finesse," as Etienne de Montille called it. There is a tiny bit of back-end warmth, and in large-format bottles the texture needs another couple of years for complete refinement, but this is a wonderful example of what 2002 Cote d'Or whites are capable of.

Round nose of white flowers and citrus, lemon zest, lemon and white raspberries warmed by the iron stone that's been warmed by the sun. It's a wine that is showing beautifully right now, good balance of fruit and minerality, satiny mouthfeel and languid viscosity. Good time to drink, not sure will get any better. Yummy. Still has good focus and clarity, but will probably round out more as time passes, losing that bright acidic edge.

A deep and complex nose offering ripe fruit, intense minerality and finely integrated oak. The taste follows the nose, being very intensive and elegant at the same time. Amazingly smooth mouthfeel and extremely long aftertaste. A great wine of finesse that will probably be even better in a few years.

Extremely plush, opulent, buttery. I prefer a little more steel and focus in this kind of wine but the quality is obvious. That said, not sure the very first signs of oxidation weren't beginning to show in the nose, which wasn't as pure as I was expecting.

Excepcional.

No formal notes - a very enjoyable bottle, but agree with others that it lacks the last bit of essence to put it over the top.... Drink up

From magnum. Oyster shell, bright lemon, solid acid. Crisp overall. Appealing light spice on the backnose. Notable wood treatment but not distracting. Upside potential here. 91+

Birthday Celebration (Custom House Tavern - Chicago IL): Lemon and apple aromas. Simple fruit on palate with good minerality and acidity, but a slightly simple and austere finish.

Still crisp but starting to fade. A bit tart and lemony, just out of balance, but trying
