From magnum - uniquely etched bottle for the Alaska Raptor Center. This wine is in a great place right now, not sure about all the negativity. No notes taken, but I was definitely having a good time drinking this aged merlot.

This wine has aged incredibly well, considering its pedigree. Fully mature, but not showing any detriment from 9 years of cellaring. Super smooth, deep red fruits with lots of cherries. Glad we stashed a few of these away...

A rather non-descript merlot. Very dry, lots of tannins. Very little fruit...maybe some blackberry? Would pair well with a rich tomato sauce, but didn't work as well with our lasagna, which had a fairly sweet ricotta cheese blend.

A fairly simple and straightforward merlot, not as complex as other CSM Merlot. Already subtle fruit, mostly blackberry, and modest tannins didn't instill any confidence that this will improve with age.

Clearly past its prime, and yet it aged gracefully, and still has lots and lots of smooth fruit. Amazing.

Had average taste, O. K. balance, but nothing special at all.
