Cork came apart and had to filter wine into decanter. Dark ruby to purple. Still looks fresh. Nice nose of plum black cherry, some blackberry and raisin. Some spice and pepper. Palate with similar fruit but more muted and raisiny. Some meat and pepper and still some tannin. I acquired this from an estate clearance and they were going to throw away the wine. I took 1.5 cases of random Ridge zins from 2001-2005. This showed more life and promise than I would have imagined. Enjoyed the adventure and look forward to trying more of them.

Lacks intensity. Otherwise very nice. Spice, mature notes of fruit and evolved tannins on the palate. Balanced. But "light" tasting. Tasted a year ago with much better results.

This ATP bottling was wonderful! Nose of currents, smoke, vanilla and earth. On the palate it's berries, with just a hint of sweet jammy-ness, balanced, smooth and long finish. Very elegant. Delightful. Worth the wait. Thank you guys for making such good wines so consistently.

nose: charcoal, cocoa paste, just a tiny bit of olive and a wee reminder of alcohol (14.3% per the label. I'm guessing it's accurate) palate: similar to the nose, but with a rich black fruit and olive tapenade kind of flavor. A bit chalky in the mouth, I noted hints of cocoa and spice. The medium weight has a fatness to it, spreading all across the tongue. Alcohol is in check (though not un-noticeable) and the acidity is seamless. However, I suspect a year or so ago the fruit may have been more vibrant. Still, a lovely drink, and priced well in the $25 winebid purchase realm, though I would not pay more. 88-89 pts.

Still very dark in color. When first poured, a little tight, but boy did this open up over an hour or so. Not incredibly complex, but nice dark red fruit. Good acidity, making me think this still had life to it. Not sure it will get any better, though. Nice.

Medium to dark ruby color. Initially the nose had black raspberries, cherries and spices. With air the fruit got darker becoming blackberries and spices with just a hit of raspberry. Medium body with persistant but ripe tannins and good acidity. On the palate there were blackberries, cherries, spices and a bit of oak. The finish was of good length and full of spicy mixed berries.

Loved the cherry, brambly Dry Creek Sonoma fruit profile. Delightful.

Drinking nicely; bramble comes to mind. Nice, rustic, mature zinfandel.
