Twenty seven years. Where did the time go - i remember getting this wine at the winery. It’s definitely well past it’s prime - but you can pick up echoes of what it was. Still some red fruit, black cherry and wood notes along with lots of oxidative aromas of olive abd forest floor. But alas the structure is gone and the fruit is well faded. The mouthfeel is silky smooth, but this is well past it’s time.

An enjoyable wine especially given its 20 years of age. This is the kind of wine you want to open, enjoy with friends and food and not spend too much time dwelling on it. Sufficient fruit, density, fullness in the mouth and length to make you stop and say, nice wine... now, what were we talking about? I could invent other things to say about its berries, redolent of the vineyard proximity to Route 29, but come on, who really cares....shut up and drink up!

Hanging on well, still looks and smells like a muscular Heitz Cabernet. I was concerned that I had waited too long on this one but not so. While I think the intensity of the fruit has faded some, it still represents an excellent example of Joe Heitz' big contribution to Napa wine making...

Pop and pour. At first, the wine gave off a slight funk. I thought - "This is over the hill. Why do I keep wines more than 10 years?" Poured a glass and let it sit for a few minutes. What a difference. Wonderful nose of cherries, mint and dried flowers. Rich and elegant. Smooth tannins that cares the mouth, with just the right amount of acidity to ready your mouth for another sip. It shows some signs of fading as the evening goes on; after a few hours, it starts to lose focus and verve but for the first few hours, it is all there. Nice wine.

Great napa cab, and drinking so nicely here. I had a sniff of the cork after I pulled it and it was pure perfume -- all lavender and violets. We decanted it for an hour or so and it was gorgeous. Notes of blueberries and vanilla. This has aged really well I think.

Deep garnet color. Blood orange, a hint of vanilla, red fruit on the nose. Tannic citrus and raspberry notes. It has held up well.

A very nice aged Napa cabernet. Herbs and hints of mint with dark fruits and a solid finish.

In a nice place, with high-toned cranberry fruit and a lot of secondary, cedar aspects. Very nice with Thanksgiving dinner. I'd drink soon fwiw.

Good color and aroma. It is smooth, and at it's peak time. Got better as it sat in the decantur . Full bodied. Enjoy now !!
