Broken Bones Book Signing & Wine Tasting (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Tight and dull at first, but really opened up after about two or three hours, and was singing the next day. Floral, spice, tobacco and cherries on the nose. Firm tannic structure, medium+ acid, with tart red fruit. Notes of roses, rhubarb and mineral on a long, crisp finish. It was delicious but I sort of wish I let it sleep for another five years.
Spicy complexity. Needed two hours to open and settle into its profile. Initial reduction on nose which changed within 30 minutes and grew in complexity over two hours. Black pepper fruit, very balanced acidity and plush tannins.
Much better than last bottle. Showing some of the complexity I remembered, and expected. Drank over 2 days. Good balance and went well with herb and pepper crusted roast chicken. Probably shoud have held it longer, but I wanted a Burgundy to wet my whistle.
