Darker translucent ruby hue. After about an hour the nose was giving off scents of full violets, dark berry, sinuous beef blood, faint iron. Layers of lively red raspberry and black cherry fruit laced with fine iron and earth on the exquisitely poised, satiny palate. Lovely balance of lively acidity and integrated tannin. Long finish of red and black fruit brimming with freshness and cut with powdered rock and iron. Very enjoyable showing tonight.

Blind tasting dinner. Nose of dark and red fruit, very earthy, feels quite young still. Solid, but may be a touch rustic as so often with the Lamarche wines of this era.

Deep red. Nose comes out reluctantly, and is of dark fruit. In the palate there is a sensation of darkness and depth. Seems like a ungiving wine now, but it is still a baby.

Blind Tasting While Watching the Cubs Win NLDS Game 1 (Chez Kailin - Northbrook IL): Tasted double blind. One of the strangest wines I tasted blind in a long time. Nothing seemed burgundy, nobody thought this Burgundy. This came across as New World to me, varietal non-descript, imperfectly balanced, perhaps needing more time. What a head scratcher.

Should've let this one rest. Yet, after some hours this is both delicious and clearly shows potential of a great wine. There's quite a bit of stuffing here and it could very well merit 94+ ten years from now. Instead of describing the wine any further I'll just advice to leave it alone for now.

Still young. After opening up some, beautiful nose of earth and fruit. Long and lush in mouth. Tannins present but not harsh in any way. A great wine that will continue to mature.

Notes of cherry and strawberry with hints of barnyard. Palish ruby in glass. Firm structure underpins medium long finish with summer fruits and some cherry notes on palate

Nose is prunes and mushrooms. Excellent color. Fruit is obscured by the grippy tannins. Not sure about this at all.

Dinner with friends, had with NY Strip Steak. Much fruit in our tasting, better after a couple hours open. Good after a few more years?

Could have waited a few more years before opening, but really nice wine that is promising.

Expressive earth and spice notes, lovely aromatics with pure red cherry and flowers in the forest make this complex and graceful. Sexy wine.
