  • Full yellow colour. A very honeyed nose with some apricot showing. On day 4, from a half, the nose hadn't changed. This wine is amazingly fresh and still has a small presence spritzig. Rich, full, round and with very, very concentrated honeyed yellow fruit flavours and a dried apricot finish. Even on the 4th day the spritzig was still evident and with no deterioration in flavour or structure. Nik Weis has produced another fine wine in this vintage. It bears all the hallmarks that it will still drink with great pleasure at age 25.

  • Gold in color. Tropical fruits on the nose. Initial jolt of sweetness, but when combined with spicy chinese fare, a perfect match. Tropical fruits, a little steel, refreshing acidity and perfectly balanced.

  • The first of two bottles purchased several years ago and served with maple-soy glazed Coho salmon, oven roasted cauliflower, and stir fried snow peas. Oh my, what a magnificent pairing.
DOUGLEE described the aromatics and palate impression very well with the 7/27/2009 note although the color has deepened to a medium gold now. There is lots of life left in this and I wish I had more.

  • One of our first stabs at German riesling. Very pale gold. Nose of melon, apricot, honeysuckle, and lime. Palate showing pristine, crisp, purely delineated fruit just this side of sweet with a voluptuousness that belies its steely spine. Racy acidity and long, floral finish. Terrific with arugula topped with shaved parmesan and calarmari rings. Wow, paints a picture which hangs in the air long after swallowing.

  • Initially very opulent nose, that has closed down somewhat by day two. Fat, ripe, yellow fruit, balanced by good, citrus-like acidity. Very fat; more like an Auslese than a Spätlese. Still some spritz and also some SO2. Very opulent, but also very delicious. Difficult to predict how this will age; the material is there, but isn't it a bit too ripe? On day three, this hasn't budge in the least: opulent, fat, but good acidity and probably very, very young (however if you have several I would recommend tasting one now over several days by way of desert, it is just that delicious).

  • heady floral and tropical fruit perfume is followed by a thickly-rich, lusciously sweet, honeyed and white raisin-studded palate, layering grilled pineapple, grapefruit, and mango; gaudy and flamboyant, this wine finishes with a torrent of tropical fruits
